That “award” hasn’t had any credibility in years.

It’s a leftist pat on the back club.

Robinson is not a journalist - he’s a commentator. And hardly an original one, at that.

He spent 8 years attacking Bush, followed by fawning over Obama, with a smattering of peices, all about race, thrown in amongst them.

This one is particularly galling. Robinson took over the columnist position of William Raspberry. Raspberry was a liberal, but always thoughtful and generally respected conservative arguments. Robinson has nothing to say except the usual PC slogans delivered in self-rightous anger.

Raspberry never won the Pulitzer, although he had a decent case. Robinson has won it for writing garbage.

So why does a reasonable man like Raspberry not get honored and an angry hack like Robinson get honored? I have a theory.

Liberal whites usually have deep-seated anger against their parents, and look for ways to justify that anger they carry. They make black people their mascots. They identify with the angry black person, because it allows liberal whites to feel good about their anger. “I may be angry, but the presence of this angry black man shows I have something important to be angry about.”

The result is that angry black men like Eugene Robinson get honored. Reasonable intelligent black men like William Raspberry get overlooked.

We see this again and again. For example, the cartoon strip “Boondocks” is neither funny nor insightful, but it’s angry and written by a black man. The cartoonist gets speaking engagements everywhere, gets books of his cartoons published, and even gets a television show. On the other hand, the far superior cartoon “Curtis” (also written by a black man) gets ignored by book publishers and creators of television shows.

By encouraging the anger, white liberals are hurting the black community. Young black people get the wrong message. As usual, liberals are hurting the ones they claim to help.

Robinson is a professional black racist whose articles are always about the black-white divide and the evils of those on the white side.

Even with a black now President, he will find racist tendencies behind any criticism of a black president. His columns are hate speech for profit, and the Washington Post, in its remaining few days, will always find room for professional black racists to assuage their white liberal guilt.

Robinson won for the same reason Carter and Gore won Nobel prizes. The people who hand out these awards look for the most liberal, anti-conservative person out there. They use these awards as clubs to beat conservatives with. Needless to say Thomas Sowell will never win a Pulitzer.
