Senator's husband's firm cashes in on crisis
The Washington Times ^ | April 21, 2009 | Chuck Neubauer

On the day the new Congress convened this year, Sen. Dianne Feinstein introduced legislation to route $25 billion in taxpayer money to a government agency that had just awarded her husband's real estate firm a lucrative contract to sell foreclosed properties at compensation rates higher than the industry norms.

Mrs. Feinstein's intervention on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. was unusual: the California Democrat isn't a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs with jurisdiction over FDIC; and the agency is supposed to operate from money it raises from bank-paid insurance payments - not direct federal dollars.

Documents reviewed by The Washington Times show Mrs. Feinstein first offered Oct. 30 to help the FDIC secure money for its effort to stem the rise of home foreclosures. Her letter was sent just days before the agency determined that CB Richard Ellis Group (CBRE) - the commercial real estate firm that her husband Richard Blum heads as board chairman - had won the competitive bidding for a contract to sell foreclosed properties that FDIC had inherited from failed banks.

The problem with Communist wannabes like Feinstein is that they love money too much.

Has Obama stepped in to limit the compensation of Richard Bloom? His firm is getting a direct benefit from intervention by a government agency. Isn't it time for a grand jury to review the abuse of Feinstein's office in routing $25 billion of taxpayer money that directly benefits her husband?

Yeah, she has mastered the art of fleecing.

There have been several articles posted on the CBRE cash in.

Just the latest in a long list of “projects” where her husband was conveniently on the receiving end of taxpayer dollars.

In a just world, Feinswine and her kleptomaniac husband would be behind bars for a very, very long time.

Is it not amazing how democrat politicians always leave office worth millions?

Inherent to Communism as its been practiced anywhere is that the ruling elite have no aversion to money (graft) or the good life so Feinstein is not violating any tenet of it.

Her husband, with her help, made a killing from the war in Iraq. "Insider trading!"

IMO, Feinstein should be investigated for a lot worse than "torturing" terrorists!

Making land owned by your competitors into "wilderness" eliminates the competition.
