(CNN) -- A California Sunday-school teacher accused of killing a young girl may have abducted another child, police said.
Melissa Huckaby, 28, was arrested earlier this month and charged with killing and raping 8-year-old Sandra Cantu, who was taken from a mobile home park in Tracy, California.
Police said Huckaby was named in a January police report about the four-hour disappearance of a 7-year-old girl from the same mobile home park, CNN affiliate KOVR reported.
After Huckaby returned the girl, the girl had to be taken to a hospital because she was under the influence of a strong muscle relaxant.
Police were called to the mobile home park after the girl's mother reported her missing, according to KOVR. Police discovered that the girl was at a park with Huckaby. Huckaby said she had permission to take the girl, but the girl's family disputed that claim.

I like how they put the last name in the article. As to make some seeming connection between her and Mike Huckabee.

Here is where I wish we still had frontier justice.
Monsters like that should not be allowed to last a minute after it’s clear what they have done.
Prayers to those poor little girls’ families! My God, I can’t even imagine their anguish right now.
This story will evaporate fast if it turns into a monster-Dahmer-type with an evil thespian (sic) as the villian.
Two problems:
They should have locked her up after the first incident, but they didn't, at least in part, because she is a female. Law Enforcement and Prosecutors are loathe to go after women criminals.
The ACLU and their nutbag-friendly judges, decreed that nutty people can't be institutionalized (which is why we have so many homeless). A few decades ago, people like Huckaby would have been sent to an asylum after the first incident. (and I'll bet we will eventually find out there were other previous incidents). Let's abolish the ACLU as a criminal organization, and impeach any judges who have sided with them. Just a thought.

And your post reminds me of some cases over the past few years where violent lesbians tortured and killed young boys in their custody - their own sons.
This is indeed a strange bird - and I have yet to see the term “lesbian” be used.

I can’t believe they suspected her of drugging a kid in Jan. and it seems she paid no penalty for that?

The police couldn’t prove that the perp had given the muscle relaxant? How hard did they try, I wonder? Did they search the trailer, check the drug store, make any effort to track it down?
There seems to have been no doubt that she abducted the child without the family’s permission.
note how CNN structures their headline to make the casually disinterested think that they are talking about Mike Huckabee over at the evil Fox News.
I’m guessing she will claim Sandra Cantu’s death was unintentional from too much muscle relaxant to avoid the death penalty.
They should have gone with the less misleading
