Mark down the date. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, is the moment that any chance of a new era of bipartisan respect in Washington ended. By inviting the prosecution of Bush officials for their antiterror legal advice, President Obama has injected a poison into our politics that he and the country will live to regret.
Policy disputes, often bitter, are the stuff of democratic politics. Elections settle those battles, at least for a time, and Mr. Obama's victory in November has given him the right to change policies on interrogations, Guantanamo, or anything on which he can muster enough support. But at least until now, the U.S. political system has avoided the spectacle of a new Administration prosecuting its predecessor for policy disagreements. This is what happens in Argentina, Malaysia or Peru, countries where the law is treated merely as an extension of political power.
If this analogy seems excessive, consider how Mr. Obama has framed the issue. He has absolved CIA operatives of any legal jeopardy, no doubt because his intelligence advisers told him how damaging that would be to CIA morale when Mr. Obama needs the agency to protect the country. But he has pointedly invited investigations against Republican legal advisers who offered their best advice at the request of CIA officials.
"Your intelligence indicates that there is currently a level of 'chatter' equal to that which preceded the September 11 attacks," wrote Assistant Attorney General Jay Bybee, in his August 1, 2002 memo. "In light of the information you believe [detainee Abu] Zubaydah has and the high level of threat you believe now exists, you wish to move the interrogations into what you have described as an 'increased pressure phase.'"

I think it’s pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain, that Soros wants to destroy this country. He hates it and won’t rest until he die( I pray that is soon) or America is destroyed. He is an evil, hateful man and The Marxist Kenyan in the WH is his puppet. zer0 is a weak, little manchild that can’t complete and intelligent sentence without a teleprompter. He’s not playing with a full deck. It’s only been 90 days and he already is acting really whacky. Will he crack or will his puppet masters be able to prop him up for 4 years. A DC jury would find Cheney or Bush guilty. It would be like the OJ jury--even if 75% of the country thought the verdict was nuts, the jury could come to whatever conclusion it wants. The OJ jury chose to believe that OJ was framed by a racist white cop, because that fit in with their preconceptions. The jury which would hear the case against Cheney would be DC residents who believe that Cheney is evil incarnate.
Most of the public gets its news from the mainstream media. Maybe a majority can be induced to think this sort of prosecution is necessary to "restore America's moral standing" and justified.
If there is another terrorist attack, the MSM line will be to blame Bush and Cheney for making the terrorists hate America (by invading Iraq and by holding terrorists at Guantanamo, and because of "torture").

It has been going back and forth for many decades now like this. I believe the left will lose seats in 2010 and Obama will be a one term president PROVIDED we do our part. The tea parties must continue and we must have a STRONG leader that can unite both ultra-conservatives and lukewarm republicans. HE needs to be an ultra-conservative at his core. HE needs to be dedicated to our causes and we need to give him majorities in both houses so that he has the power to see our will done once and for all. We need a platform that unites us as well. The McCain platform was weak and not a unifying one just as he was. Newt Gingritch organized a republican revolution using the mid-terms and disenchantment with Clinton to gain a strong majority. We have plenty of time to organize and to maneuver and we need to stay positive and focused while being ever aware of any tactical mistakes on their part e.g. obama getting caught with a cigar. If such an opportunity arises, we need to pounce. For what it’s worth, I believe Newt Gingritch may actually be a good choice for us btw.
Forgot the name of the poll. Latest scientific polling on devisiveness put Obama as most devisive in the history of the poll (70’s?). The poll has nothing to do with what pecentage voted for the winner or what the press says. The poll measures the difference how far apart the two parties are on their opinion of the job the president is doing.

My gut tells me that you are correct about this but I can’t believe the Demonrats didn’t focus-group this. They must think they can get away with it politically or they wouldn’t do it.
I believe that this initiative is coming from Obama himself: he is allowing this to proceed because he believes in it. Zer0 is the biggest idealogue there is; his performance overseas has proved that.
