EDITORIAL: Beauty & the beast. Miss USA contest shuns Christian values
The Washington Times ^ | April 24, 2009 | Editorial

Beauty contests have turned ugly. Pageants used to celebrate good, old-fashioned values, but today a young lady cannot be crowned Miss USA unless she supports same-sex marriage. Talk about tripping up on the runway.

On Sunday, Miss California Carrie Prejean was rejected for the Miss USA crown because she defended traditional marriage. One of the pageant's five judges, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, bluntly asked Miss California if she supported same-sex marriage. Her response was: "I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised, and that's how I think it should be ... ." Mr. Hilton told ABC News that "She lost it because of that question. She was definitely the front-runner before that."

Mr. Hilton, who is a homosexual, later called Miss Prejean a string of vulgarities unfit for print, said she had "half a brain," and fumed that he would have ripped the tiara off her head had she won. The judge explained that the San Diego Christian College student wasn't fit for the title because, "Miss USA should represent all Americans, and with her statement she instantly was divisive and alienated millions of gays and lesbians, their families, friends and supporters."

An ugly situation but how could we expect for exemplary values to eminate from anything run by Donald Trump?

I am still seething over this.

I wish she had simply laughed, and said, "Of course not!"

How could they put this -thing- in judgement over anyone?

that piece of crap Trump was on FOX saying the question had nothing to do with her losing, while his own “hand picked” judge says the opposite.

If she said something she did not believe in, but felt compelled to say to be more PC, that too would have “alienated” a lot of people such as the majority of Americans who believe “marriage” is between one man and one woman. Totally ridiculous. Perez the Twit did nothing for his cause, which is universal acceptance of homosexuality as the default lifestyle.

My choice would’ve been if, after she received the question from Lavandeira (Hilton), she replied, “People like YOU getting married?? ROTFLMAO!!

I take pleasure in visualizing what would have happened to Mr. “Hilton” had his family not left Cuba.

Take the same position on queer marriage as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and get smeared for it. Amazing.

The flaming little homo says Miss USA should represent all Americans, but a Miss USA that supports homo "marriage" doesn't "represent" me, so his statement is invalid.

More proof that liberals are totally losing it. George Orwell was a little early with "1984".

Mr. Trump didn't condemn Mr. Hilton's biased, unprofessional and obscene conduct...An ugly situation but how could we expect for exemplary values to eminate from anything run by Donald Trump?

Since Trump is the quintessential obscenity, why would he condemn such in another piece of humanoid debris?

seven replies and no photos of the young lady in question. How am I supposed to make a guilty/not guilty judgment?

Perez fumed that he would have ripped the tiara off her head had she won.

My hope would be that there would be plenty of healthy red blooded males that would have pummeled that little twit into a blob of mush.

Not amazing at all.

Everyone knows Clinton and Obama are lying.

It is also annoying to hear homo apologists on cable shows saying that “Hilton” was a disgrace to the pansies and not typical of those people. Bull. My experience is that even if they don’t say those things, the homos think them.

I would not be surprised if that question was asked in the hopes of getting the answer it did. Why would that Godless bone smuggler post a video to make it appear that she did not win? The Media took the bait and the issue of gay marriage is all over the place. Particularly proposition 8 in California.

“Tits and ass have never been Christian value.”

Well when I see a good pair of tits and a smoking ass I drop on my knees and thank God for the beauty of his creation. So one could argue that it helps bring you closer to God.
