President Obama Requests May Sweeps Timeslot

President Barack Obama has asked to make a prime-time appearance during May sweeps.

White House officials have requested up to an hour of airtime for Wednesday, April 29, according to TV Week. The press conference, which falls on the 100th day of Obama's presidency, will probably air in the 8 o'clock hour and address questions of the president's performance.

Broadcast networks have not yet announced their response, but a source said that they will most likely agree to the administration's request.

Will you tune in to President Obama's "100 Days" press conference? Or have there been too many already?

These fake press conferences are getting tiresome. The questions are submitted for approval. The names are called from a list. The whole thing is an insult to the First Amendment.

My crystal ball predicts in the near future mandatory viewing of his speeches, all movie houses must show speeches before the main film.

All NASCAR events must have a Obama speech in place of the singing of the National Anthem.

Why don't the networks just announce a new talk show that will be previewing soon - The Obama Show - airing 1 hour every week on all channels - a fun filled "answer and question show" * with lots of goofy characters. The ending will be soap opera style, leaving us asking, "but when, who, how, why...?" and we will have to tune in next week to find out. (Shhh. We never really find out!)

*Kind of like Jeapordy - the reporters get the answers ahead of time and have to figure out the questions to ask.
