The top U.S. military officer in charge of the African coastline plagued by pirates says shipping companies should take a hard look at hiring armed guards to protect their ships.

Gen. David Petraeus... said Friday that the U.S. military already has used armed guards aboard some commercial ships that carry military cargo. He said cargo ships can't really protect themselves with fire hoses when the pirates have rocket propelled grenades.

Uhh, no.

Shippers should train their crews to defend their ships and cargo vessels need to be armed - ONCE AGAIN - to foil Islamic Pirates.

Wells Fargo hired shotgun riders. Shippers should hire machine gun riders.

I’ll go. I remember how to strip my M-16, load and reload.

as for aiming, my vision is down...quite a bit!

But I guess that is what automatic fire is all about!

Maybe they can train me on the new fancy automatic grenade launcher! Almost IS good enough for a hand grenade!

Schools at all levels also need armed guards to deter evildoers. It’s just obviously needed prudence.

The Mk38 is just the thing for those scurvy dogs.

I was gunner in charge of the 3rd and 4th ones ever mounted on Naval vessels. I see that they went to fluted barrels, but they still get hot in a hurry.

Blackwater is no more. It's now Xe.

Don't ask me why it's Xe, but it's Xe.

Maybe they should use their car keys, or pepper spray, as the liberals suggest against muggers!

Don't forget to include a metal detector! The crew can roll it in front of the ladder the pirates use to board the ship, so they can check for weapons like they do in public schools! :0)

Will they be protected from the the left wing American Court system? Will they be subjected to testifying before Congress? Will they be given sovereign immunity?
