Well, that's another subject Lindsey clearly knows nothing about. He really needs to read up on the Spanish Inquisition if he thinks waterboarding is remotely akin the the tortures and punishments used then.
Grahamnesty is following the McCain line on this one. Unfortunately, he is too blind or too stupid to realize that what hurts us with our enemies is that we RESIST them — not that we interrogate (NOT TORTURE) them. I can assure you that they have no such qualms about what is or is not torture, nor about when to use it on our service men and women.
And has Grahamnesty ever STUDIED the Spanish Inquisition?! I have. And to compare what we allegedly did to these scum to what happened in the Inquisition displays — again — his complete ignorance or blatant stupidity.

Maybe he’s making a bid to be one of the “Republicans” on the “bipartisan” truth commission (along with Chuck Hagel perhaps). They can use the same formula that worked so well in the case of the 9/11 commission—4 hyperpartisan Democrats and 4 lukewarm Republicans.

There was no one else to fill the gigantic shoes of Sen. Strom Thurmond. I remember meeting Grahamnesty at a fundraiser in Columbia in June of that year. He gazed up at me with the eyes of a fourteen year old girl and I was sickened.
But the Democrat on the ballot aspired to be a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and was to the left of Ron Dellums, so I held my nose and pulled the Republican lever.

Of course there are better ways, if you have the time to invest in studying the subject and developing a technique to get him to talk. But, if you know you have only a few weeks or months to get information on a planned attack from a good source, then pressure is a good alternative. If the CIA only pressured 3 terrorists it means they were not using waterboarding except on very select individuals.

I think a good majority of the House managers got shunned at cocktail parties and decided to do what they could to get back in good with their betters. That’s the only way I can explain how so many of them became raving idiots soon after Clinton was let off the hook by the Senate.
