“If you got health insurance, then you can keep it . . . and we won’t do anything about that,” at least that was what President Obama promised during the campaign last year. Well, add that to a very long list of broken campaign promises, including: cutting government spending, reducing the deficit, and “no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase.”
Just as bad, on Friday it was revealed that Obama and the Democrats have no problem pushing through Senate votes on these radical health care changes that strip away normal procedural protections for those who oppose such changes.
Last Sunday on “Meet the Press,” Larry Summers, Obama’s chief economic adviser, let the cat out of the bag on health care. In explaining why universal health care wasn’t going to increase the deficit, Summers said that people are just getting too much unnecessary care. Summers claimed: “whether it’s tonsillectomies or hysterectomies . . . procedures are done three times as frequently [in some parts of the country than others] and there’s no benefit in terms of the health of the population. And by doing the right kind of cost-effectiveness, by making the right kinds of investments and protection, some experts that we — estimate that we could take as much as $700 billion a year out of our health care system.”
This sure seems like rationing. . . . .

Homosexuals will receive full, unrestricted care for AIDS. To pay for that, families with 2 children will not be covered for a third.
Abortions will be fully funded. To pay for that, they will cut abstinence education spending.
Illegal aliens with Mexican Flu will be fully covered. To pay for that, they will cut flu shots for the elderly.
Summers is correct. Too many people run to the doctor at the first sniffle because the cost of the visit is either free (at least to the patient) or a nominal co-pay. Back in the 60’s and 70’s many health insurance plans required the patient to pay the entire bill at the point of service and then seek reimbursment from the insurance compnay and as a result, many people did not seek medical treatment for the common cold or a headache.
And will be promptly booted from power as soon as the American people return to the voting booth.
We're paying for it. We should be able to buy any kind of service we want. Who is she to tell us what we can and cannot buy with our own wages?
Of course, the dependent grasshoppers have become too expensive for the lefts politicians to support, so they're going to steal everyone elses freedom to make sure the democrat base gets their monthly serving of government slop.
#*#%$#**** MORONS!!! Tonsillectomies are not done only because of a sore throat and even then, who wants to live with a constant sore throat? Also they often are strep infections that have to constantly be treated with antibiotics. Then the antibiotics don’t work any longer. I know, it happened to me and at the age of 18 I finally had them removed, never a problem again.

When the left decides it wants to take something over, it destroyes what we have in existance first, so they can rebuild it in their own image. This is what we've seen in the schools, health care, housing, etc.

ONLY if you accept it which many here seem resigned to the fact that the government controls every aspect of their lives and they have to accept it. The defeatist attitude here is very discouraging at times. I find Socialized, rationed health care TOTALLY unacceptable and I say HELL NO!

Heck, in my case the doctor forces me to come in at least once a year, he threatens to cut off my meds if I don't. Other than that, I've got to be at death's door before I go to the doctor.
Obama will force everyone into this as the private companies won't be able to compete and will eventually go out of business because people won't be able to pay the increased premiums they will have to charge.

Many people did not have the money to pay up front, which is what they spread the cost through insurance. The same principle applies to credit for a home or car.

as someone who has been researching the hysterectomy issue, I have to agree that yes, they are done WAYYYY to often and not necessary, as there are some GOOD less invasive ALTERNATIVES to deal with the problems that cause doctors to recommend hysterectomies.
But are those alternatives going to be unavailable as well?

Illegal immigrants can get free health care but legal immigrants cannot. I entered this country legally 7 years ago and have been denied access to medicaid to get treatment for invasive breast cancer.
"Universal" heath care payments from all, quality health care for none (except the very elite).
