CNN: Obama more popular than his policies, poll shows

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A new national poll suggests that President Obama is personally more popular than his policies.

The CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll, released Monday, also indicates that 63 percent of Americans approve of how Obama is handling his duties as president. One in three questioned in the poll disapprove.

The survey, released two days before Obama marks 100 days in the White House, indicates that three in four Americans feel Obama has the personal qualities a president should have. But when asked whether Obama agrees with the respondent on the issues, that number drops to 57 percent.

"Americans have two different assessments of President Obama. One, personal. The other, policy," CNN Senior Political Analyst Bill Schneider said.

"What does the public find most controversial about President Obama? His policies, much more than his personal qualities."

"Now that Obama is president, the number who agree with his views on the issues has gone down, while the number who say he has the right personal qualities has gone up," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland added.

"That didn't happen the last time we had a new administration. In George W. Bush's first months in office, the number who thought he had the right personal skills to be president was lower than the number who felt that way during the 2000 presidential campaign."

The Emperor wears no clothes.

He’s an empty suit. He’s “hip” but his politics are rejected by those who “love” him.

If ever there were physical proof that this guy is being propped up by the MSM, this is it.

That’s because the Hollywood Elite and the Drive By Media have created a celebrity out of a Toom Tabard.

Who is the real President? Who is pulling his strings and feeding words into the teleprompter?

Once those policies begin to kick in and affect wallets, then support will drop. When electric bills double and triple, co2 won’t seem like such a big danger anymore. But it will be too late then. And the “I told you so moments” won’t compensate me for my loss of disposable income. Although, they will mitigate it somewhat.

So where is the link to this poll?

I didn’t see the full account of results/poll sample on CNN’s site.

And their polling company hasn’t updated info since the election last November:

This guy was nominated and elected by ABCBSCNNBCNPRPBS and the eastern papers plus the LA TIMES.

The ONLY media that dares criticize ANYTHING he does is Fox and Talk Radio...and for that the Dems want to shut down radio.

This is the kind of coverage Castro gets in Cuba.

lets face it we have the dumbest voters this country has ever produced.

During the election if you asked an obama voter why they are voting for him the answers would be
well he’;s a good speaker
or
he’s cool
or
he’s black

not one of them could ever give a decent reason why they voted for him.
Now his first 100 days is upon us the obama cult are still in denial,
I saw a poll where 37% said they are now financially better off than under Bush

guess they don’t know about the layoffs, double unemployment, markets crashing etc

Many do not like how this country is and yet they like this fool. I will however say that I think he is not as popular as the media would have us believe because I know of not one person who is happy with him right now, even my mother in law who has voted Dem all her life said after being down here for two months he’s a jackarse and wishes she never had voted for him now

The only reason why 90% of Americans are not marching to the white house right now is because of the media.
the only reason why he is in the white house is the media.
They are doing everything they can to squash facts and twist stories

Just proves people are afraid to criticize Obama. They don't want to be called racist so they say his policies suck.

even in obama’s first days he signed orders and never even knew what he was signing and had to ask someone when he was questioned.

maybe obama might find a church soon in all this working hard*(?yea right)

His actual title is Senior Propagandist. Bill Schneider never met a socialist lie he couldn't repeat.

Take comfort in this: socialism always fails. Always. It destroys the very tax base it so desperately needs to achieve its social goals.

Ironic, no? Obama doesn’t seem to realize that his ascension merely indicates that time has expired. There isn’t a sustainable economic basis in which to construct his spending plans. There’s no there, there. -Kuhio

“”What does the public find most controversial about President Obama? His policies, much more than his personal qualities.””

And THAT is exactly what the Tea Parties were about.

Stupid media.

You can ask the typical Obama voter if he or she thinks selecting an anti abortion VP like Palin was a good idea and they usually answer, “Sure.” Most of them are clueless about any of his policies.

‘....Most of them are clueless about any of his policies..’

exactly. And, imho, that’s the challenge for the Republican Party.....to educate the ‘every day’ person on how Mr. Obama’s policies will adversely affect their lives.
As of this time, I see no evidence of this happening...and there is very little time left until the 2010 elections.

“As of this time, I see no evidence of this happening.”

Me either, but it’s not too late. Much of what he’s done won’t impact the economy till next year. Plus, if he pushes socialized medicine through, we may be seeing the early signs of lower quality and that will certainly irritate people who already had insurance. Of course, we need a Republican party with a backbone and I don’t see much of that lately.
