YESHIVA TEACH BUSTED ON KID-PORN CHARGES

A teacher who worked at two Queens yeshivas and a Long Island elementary school was arrested after cops found child pornography on his home computer, cops said yesterday.

Two online tipsters told state police that Timothy Holt, 44, of Baldwin, sent child pornography over the Internet last month.

Cops seized the divorced father's computer and allegedly found nine videos and pictures depicting sexually explicit images of children.

Holt, who pleaded not guilty to felony child-pornography raps on Friday, worked as a third-grade teacher's assistant at the Birch Elementary School in Merrick and taught Earth science at Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim and Yeshiva Tiferes Torah.

I posted this because there seems to be no actual kid involved, but I wanted to make a point. This story was buried at the bottom of page 8 of the NY Post. The Post is generally a right-leaning paper, but of course they love a good story. In my experience, this would have gotten a front-page blurb if this had been a Catholic school. And you wouldn’t know until you got to the article that a preist wasn’t involved. I have friends who went to Yeshivas, and they are great schools. But there are 15 of them in NY. There are several hundred Catholic schools. In other words, if the Catholic schools kept with the Lutheran schools, or the Yeshivas, or the parochial schools, they’d need to have a couple of incidents like this a week. Not that I’m saying the Catholic schools are any better than the others, just that they are the primary private shool educators in a lot of cities. The public schools DO have so many incindets like this that they don’t even make it into the papers. The left hates the Catholic Church for a lot of reasons, but the UFT has a vested interest in making them look worse than the public schools. And that’s just one of the reasons why there is a common public perception that this sort of thing only goes on at Catholic schools.

I don't understand why the MSM doesn't understand that bias works against them. It's why they're losing readers, viewers, supporters etc.

It doesn't matter if the MSM is biased against conservatives, or Catholics or Jews or blacks or whites. And at some time in the past 100 years they were biased against each of the above.

It's just ugly - bias is ugly when a story is played one way against one group and a different way against another. Whatever group is in or out at the moment isn't the point. It's the unfairness of it. People walk away from it like you do - with disgust. And a "redesign" won't get you back...
