White House officials deny claims that President Obama might not mark the National Day of Prayer, though they're not ready to say what's planned or if he'll invite conservative evangelical critics.

Joshua DuBois, who heads the White House Office of Faith Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, said it's too early to reveal the president's plans for the day, which is the first Thursday in May.

They’re still trying to figure out what god to pray to.

They could always pull the Greek columns out of storage and ask America to pray to The One.

Oh, I’m quite sure they know who their god, Satan, is.

Why should he? Maybe he’s an agnostic, atheist, or Druid.

It’s a dumb national day ceremony.

Good grief, Dude. Don't you know there are a whole bunch of crises TOTUS has to attend to: swine flu, bank failure, mortgage crisis, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, fashion shoots, movie shoots, wardrobe fittings, Day 100 press conference. He has no time to deal with such mundane items as prayer. (I really hope I don't need to put the on this.)

They’re having trouble deciding which direction they want us to face when praying.....DC? Chicago? Hawaii? or Kenya?

Is that towards Mecca Gibbs?

See Google search: Muslims pray five times to Mecca

He hasn’t decided which rug to use, or which photo op location most directly faces toward Mecca?

It’s a dumb national day ceremony.

____________________________________________________________

So I suppose we are not a Christian Nation and should honor the following instead? You know Communism can not survive with Biblical principles in it’s way!

This Friday, April 17th, has been chosen by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network as the “National Day of Silence,” when students are urged to show their support for the homosexual movement in the public schools. Believe it or not, there is a resolution pending in the House of Representatives supporting this effort. In addition, the resolution asks President Obama to issue a proclamation “calling on the people of the United States to observe the National Day of Silence with appropriate ceremonies, programs, and activities.” Prayers are prohibited in our public schools, but by co-sponsoring this resolution, at least three dozen members of Congress have shown they believe the homosexual lifestyle should be promoted in the public schools. Is this what you believe Congress should be working on right now?

Gibbs also said the "president prays each day, whether it's National Prayer Day or not.

Are these guys intentionally trying to get people to speculate that Obama is a Muslim? I mean...that's an interesting statement to make.

"Gibbs also said the "president prays 5 times each day, whether it's National Prayer Day or not."

Does he prostrate himself to the east when he prays?

Gibbs also said he is having the "FUNIST time".

Did anyone else hear him use that non word in one of his statements?

I think we can see a direction here....the "white" house is laying in a supply of prayer rugs and painting the word "EAST" on appropriate walls within.

6 times a day, is it?

barry, barry, barry....whatever will we do with you?

Thus providing evidence, once again, of Gibbs' unerring ability to miss the point.

It’s a dumb ceremony because it’s a nothing more ceremony of people doing it because it looks nice.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and change their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive them and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

It is not a dumb ceremony. It is the only way that America will come out of the mess she is in.
