CBS 2 HD has discovered the feds will have plenty to question.
Federal officials knew that sending two fighter jets and Air Force One to buzz ground zero and Lady Liberty might set off nightmarish fears of a 9/11 replay, but they still ordered the photo-op kept secret from the public.
In a memo obtained by CBS 2 HD the Federal Aviation Administration's James Johnston said the agency was aware of "the possibility of public concern regarding DOD (Department of Defense) aircraft flying at low altitudes" in an around New York City. But they demanded total secrecy from the NYPD, the Secret Service, the FBI and even the mayor's office and threatened federal sanctions if the secret got out.

I’m sure there’s a whole series of memos and e-mails. Locating the exact source of the screw-up will be a challenge. My best guess is that there was just a disconnect between the people who knew the precise plan for the flights and the people farther down who were responsible for getting needed notifications out. It’s probably very standard procedure for any planned AF1 flights to be kept classified, except when it’s a flight involving a publicly-announced trip with POTUS, in which case a whole different set of policies and security measures are in place. Somebody near the end of the communication line probably did not have precise info about the unusual flight plan (i.e. that it involved locations and maneuvers likely to cause full-scale public panic if not publicly announced in advance), and applied the standard classification policy because doing so is clearly required unless a very clear exception has been ordered. Somebody higher up the line who did know the precise flight plans probably assumed it was so obvious that this required public notification, that he assumed that would be taken care of by people further down the line. Somehow, the info “this is exactly what the planes will do” got separated from the line of communication in which somebody orders somebody to order somebody to order somebody to make the proper notifications.

Democrat talking heads and politicians accused President Bush of being a cowboy, among other things. They squealed about his use of AF1 on September 11, 2001, for starters.
He would no more dream of sending his 747 with a military jet escort to buzz Manhattan and Jersey, than he would think of doing any of the other catastrophic changes that the Obama admin is perpetrating on the country.
This did not result in death, that we know of, like the invasion of the Branch Davidian complex did, but it is on the same order of arrogance.

Has Michelle’s whereabouts been verified for tht time period of the flight? She said she likes to “slip out” and do “fun” things. I’m inclined to believe that someone important was on the plane.

Oh no, quite the contrary. Just a small percentage of ignorant people...I only mentioned church, because I do go to church with SOME of them...there are others...it seems to be some of the Christians’(in general, not one church) mindsets out there. I think my church is wonderful, please do not misunderstand. I have been to bbbbbaaaaddddd ones before.

It’s not even clear if that reference is to a memo that was written before the flight, or one that was written afterwards in response to the widespread outrage. If before, note that it’s also not clear that the writer had any reason to believe to the specifics of the flight would involve anything likely to cause more than a few random calls from especially nervous citizens.

EXACTLY! That's why I think they intended to gage public reaction. If the govt didn't want to cause panic, they would have spoken to the gov of new york personally and not some junior aide, and let the public know, to PREVENT PANIC, CHAOS AND POTENTIAL HARM of the general public....(ie, the dangers of running down stairwells at 50mph) This aint good.....and if this is a sign of things to come, we are in big trouble.
