Greetings all,
We have chives and Italian oregano right now. Tomatoes will be planted after 10 May.
Basil is in the clay pots, and soon we will plant other herbs. We might try carrots this year. Last time we tried, the deer dug them up and ate them.
In late May we will plant a bit of white corn, and maybe some green beans.
I would like to try more yellow squash and maybe some green onions.
We eat everything we grow and if we have overage, we give it to the neighbors.

Welcome to the canteen girlangler!
That’s a nice variety your a growing.
I have wonderful memories of the canned green beans & new potaoes my mother would put up.
Evening Kathy, Hugs.
Sweet story Sandy....bet she's one proud daughter too!
Evening Taz!
Well....some might perceive that as an art. :)
I think it goes both ways.
What’s in Your Garden?
FRuits,, well, fruit trees , fuji apple and asian pear mostly, just about finished budding and flowering.. The squirrels allow me to harvest some of it but it is a battle.
Off to Richmond this week-end over at the race thread.
Thanks to You and All the Canteeners for this daily thread supporting our Troops and their families!
Oh yes, have for years. Is easy to make great beer.
Onions, lettuce (lots!), radishes, spinach, broccoli and cabbage. It’s still too cool up here for much more. A few more weeks and just about everything else will go in.
I have a day off tomorrow and I’m spending a good part of it transplanting peppers and tomatoes, moving all of my flats to the greenhouse that are currently downstairs under grow-lights and everyone’s getting a nice, yummy shot of kelp fertilizer, too.
It might rain, but that’s OK. I work in the rain at my Day Job all the time. :)
I wish I could raise some chickens. We have a neighborhood peacock that nobody claims. It just wanders around and raises a racket.
Nice looking dogs there Red.
Thanks for your service, a big USAF salute for your service from me.
My squirrels love to eat my tomatoes. Little stinkers!
I also have Jack the swamp rabbit who munches on the lettuce. I have so much he can eat all he wants.
Evening Perky.. Mighty vigorous looking tomatoes.
“Whats in your garden right now?”
Spinach, lettuce, onions, cabbage & broccoli. It’s still too cool up here to do anything else; that comes May 15th and later.
“Do you eat from your garden?”
Yes! When my kids were small, the garden was my ‘job’ and I provided a TON of food for our household.
“What do you have the most success with?”
Salad greens, green beans, tomatoes (most years) and WEEDS, LOL!
“Whats the hardest for you?”
The waiting from November to April until I can dig in the dirt again!
“And what are you going to try for the first time this year?”
Cabbage and onions. I finally have a bed that has loose enough soil to grow onions. I found a red cabbage that’s so pretty I couldn’t resist it. :)
Good evening, Taz...((HUGS))...howze the day progressing? We got into to 60s. HOT!!
Weeds!
The Garden of Weedin’.
Having confuser problems, so may not be here long.
Anyhoo..
Too many pine trees to grow anything much/
I have a pretty Hosta bed, and some bleeding hearts.
Might do some container planting this year.
