Here on Houston’s westside, all the so call Freeways except 290 are either toll roads or have toll lanes. I-10, Westpark, Beltway 8 and the new Grand Parkway are all or in part toll roads. Maybe because all these new toll roads are on the westside, they may think that only rich perple live there and they can afford to pay tolls.

CyfairAl,

I live in the Cy-Fair area, too. I also use the toll roads on occasion to get to work when some numbskull has caused a 3 car pile up on the southbound loop at Westheimer or 290 wins the daily “overturned 18 wheeler” lottery. I’d rather pay the $3 then to have to ride the clutch with a bad knee for an hour.

Anyhoo...

I notice on the Sam Houston that there are plenty of “minorities” using the toll road, including many of the lawn crews. I guess maybe they are more like Chicago Democrats where they understand “pay to play”, unlike their Californicated Austin brethren who think the world is one great big happy Bunnyland where everything should be free for everyone except for those evil Gringos.

BTW...

If you drive down Westpark from Weslayan to Edloe one of those “lawyer box” houses has a big “Vote Democratic” banners up on it’s back fence facing Westpark. Someone last week spray painted “SUCKERS” in big letters on it. When I saw that one I had to laugh! The “intelligent and educated” Democrat owners of that house had not taken it down as of Monday so it might still be there.
