Jay Severin, the fiery radio talk show host on Boston�s WTKK-FM, was suspended today after making derogatory comments about Mexicans.
Heidi Raphael, a spokeswoman for the station, said Severin had been suspended indefinitely. She declined to comment further.
George Tobia, Severin's lawyer, said it was not clear how long his client has been suspended.

Its important to make that distinction. Conservatives who don’t aren’t doing us any favors.
Selection bias. The ones who come here legally are coming here specifically because they are the kinds of people who work hard and are industrious. That isn’t rewarded in their backward banana-socialist homeland.
They are also naturally Conservative: Distrust Government, believe in family first, Church goers, antiabortion, anti-gay marriage.
First amendment prevents the govt (specifically the Fed govt) from abridging your right to free speech. Doesn’t say your boss can’t tell you what you can and cannot say while at work.
Not sure if he’s on today (I have Howie on in the background, myself, and only found out through a post on the radio-info.com board). The comment may have been earlier in the week.
Recently Jeff Katz filled in for Howie. He has done fill-ins for Jerry Doyle and was on WRKO years ago; when he got to RKO he said he had been fired in Calif. for joking about illegals
(he said Taco Bell should give out prizes to people for running over illegals, IIRC)

Look, you know as well as I, for every legal one that comes here legitimately, there are 300 illegals.
Why come here legally, wait years, when you can just walk in and get hired by the greedy employers, that love low wage labor?

The example I like to give is, What if you got hired as a WalMart greeter and told every customer who came in, “Welcome to WalMart. F-— you.” Your boss walks over to you and says to stop it. You say you won’t and keep doing it.

I don’t believe the provision in the 1964 Civil Rights act should have included “national origin”. If I want to make fun of Mexicans or Russians or any other idiotic country, I should have the damn right to.
Such comments add nothing to the debate (it doesn’t even work as satire) and his employer is right to repremand him over such a remark.
He referred to those coming across the border illegally as “crminaliens”, and said hospital emergency rooms have become “condos for Mexicans.”

Conservative WTKK radio host Jay Severin was suspended indefinitely today for making offensive remarks about illegal aliens and the swine flu, sources tell the Herald.
Severin was shocked to learn about the suspension, the sources said, as the station had been using those same remarks in on-air promos.
Heidi Raphael, a spokeswoman for station owner Greater Media, confirmed Severin’s suspension saying the station would have no further comment.
“We’re going to sit down with the station soon,” said Severin’s agent and attorney, George Tobia. “I am confident that everything will be resolved and Jay will be back on the air doing great radio soon.”
The Spanish-language daily newspaper El Diario la Prensa in New York City, reported earlier this week that Severin was using the flu to attack Mexicans and immigrants.
“For Severin, Mexicans are ‘criminaliens’ and primitives who export venereal diseases to the United States,” the paper reported. “The shock jock referred to the strain of flu as ‘swine-aka-Janet Napolitano flu.’ ”
“That’s not the end of Severin’s anti-immigrant rants. Immigrants are leeches and their children, he warns, don’t speak English, will retard schools, add to crime and spread disease. Amid all of this, Severin has the audacity to state, ‘I don’t mean to hype the story,’ ” the paper said.
Severin, the afternoon-drive host on WTKK-FM (96.9), declined comment.
"Yeah, well, that's become essentially condos for Mexicans," he said in audio posted on the WTKK website.

I also work for a company where I am sure we have illegals working.
They have real SSI numbers and pass our background checks, but you just know.
The point is: we pay them exactly the same wage.
We cannot get Americans to pass the pre-employment drug test.
Our failure rate is 85% for new applicants; unless they are Hispanic.

I agree that this is the issue at hand. I never denied illegal immigrationw as a problem. In fact, I was clear in my original comment that I have no use for illegals. I think they should all be shipped back, and repeat offenders should be prosecuted.

Again, I never denied this at all. But then again, if it was that simple, only illegals would have jobs. My point is, the people who have enough decency and self-respect to come here legally should not be treated the same as fence jumpers. In my experience, legal U.S. immigrants are some of the most anti-illegal-immigration people I have ever met, for the simple reason that they did everything the right and got jumped in line by the tunnel rats.

They distrust the “law”, not the government. They march in the streets for more government! And why are half of them on welfare if they’re so hard working?
Family first....why are there all those towns in Mexico with nothing but children and old people because the breeders have left for “El Norte”....then they have more anchor babies here.

A big earthquake with the strength of 8.1 on the Richter scale hits Mexico, along with a plague. Two million Mexicans have died and over a million are injured or sick and dying.
The country is totally ruined and the government doesn’t know where to start with asking for help to rebuild. The rest of the world is in shock.
Canada is sending troopers to help the Mexican army control the riots.
Saudi Arabia is sending oil to replace what was lost.
Other Latin American countries are sending supplies to replace what was lost.
The European community is sending food to replace what was lost.
The United States, not to be outdone, is sending two million replacement Mexicans.

I could tell ya about thousands of cases that would make your hair fall out.
Here's one:
An illegal was working for employer x for cheap as a machine operator. He drank every day in the alley out back, but employer x would not fire him cause he was cheap.
One day the illegal, standing at his machine, drunk, and proceeds to urinates all over the rubber mat he stands on while running the machine, right in front of all the other illegals, that were laughing.....
What did employer x do?
No disciplinary actions, no termination, nothing.
The illegal eventually wound up suing the employer for a variety of allegations.
Nice huh?

Either that or they just don't take drugs.
