How much “help” will any “Third Party” candidate get from the Republican Party? ZERO!

Which is exactly the amount of support they give conservative Republican candidates. What's the difference? Why carry their baggage?

And the Republic will not survive without the Republican Party taking up the Conservative Ronald Reagan banner.

The problem with your argument is that they don't even know what that is, which they continue to prove in spades.

That’s simply untrue.

I did not get some Don Quito nut job idea to start a “new party” -— Instead, several of us, in Kansas TOOK OVER the State GOP!

Too bad your effort didn't have enough staying power to keep Republicans like Sam Brownback from supporting leftwing radicals like Sebelius.

Stop blaming yesterday on today! Tomorrow is the day we should be worried about. Sulking will only let the RINOS in Washington think the people back home don't care. Pick up those phones and call, not just RINOS but democrats as well. Flood Washington with anger and don't stop. We need more than tea parties and false hopes on elections that in 2010 will be fixed. You don't win battles if you want to sit down for a coffee break during the heat of it. Keep shooting at the enemy, shoot until you run out of ammo and then you use your weapon as a bludgeon, BUT YOU DON"T GIVE UP!!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER QUIT!!! QUITTERS NEVER WIN, AND WINNERS NEVER QUIT !!

You do not seem to understand the game.

Smart Conservatives, in the Republican Party, have been careful about their contributions for over a generation now.

Let the corporations and the PACs fund the Congressional Committee, the Senatorial Committee, the RNC and the State Party, at least, let that happen when your friends are NOT in 100% control.

Make sure we have conservatives, on all of those organization committees, if not RUNNING the committee than at least making sure that Conservatives get a fair shake, as far as support goes.

However, give YOUR money DIRECTLY to candidates, and to the prolife, pro 2nd Amendment, anti-tax PAC’s that YOU support.

In this way, MOST of the squishy, “moderate” Republican voters will BE THERE to vote for the Conservative Republicans who make it through the primary.

In this way, our competitive candidates will get the support that they deserve, and will not have to fight their own Party, (LIKE I DID) to try and get elected.

If your goal is to create a “New” Party that will be Nationwide in scope, will reflect 100% YOUR views, at the County, State and National level, and will actually ELECT someone to office, you will surely fail.

If you organize for the purpose of voting in the Republican Primary, to elect Conservative Republicans, then you might make a difference.

What guarantee do you have that YOUR Party will NEVER have a SINGLE elected official do something you don't like?

(Of course, if you NEVER elect anyone to anything, it will be kind of difficult for any of YOUR non-elected non-officials to let you down, huh?)

Where are the Republicans?

I see then nearly every day on the T.V. News - the left overs of the Republican Establishment - mostly RINOs wondering why Conservatives won’t pay attention to their blabbering - ‘Geeze Folks’ ‘Democrat Lite is Great! We’re here in the Big Tent why are you not here? Conservatives are welcome too you know’.

One place the so called leaders of the Republican Party ARE NOT is on the leading edge of middle class American discontent aligning themselves with the Tea Party folks...

The future of the Republican Party will be found in the National Tea Party - if the Repug ‘leadership’ has any sense.

But of course - the political/philosophical decisions - the future path of Republicanism must be made by the PEOPLE - not by the so called leaders. And the current crop of Repug ‘leaders’ don’t want that to happen.

As an example we have Republican Senator John Cornyn joining hands with Sen. Schumer on the new Amnesty Bill - and we Conservative folks out on the firing line are supposed to believe we have Republican Leadership?

Amazing!!!

This argument fails from the start in the face of the fact that the primary process has been corrupted. It is no longer in the control of the people, and especially in the hands of conservatives.

Conservative Republicans are IN the arena.
B The Party would not have moved towards socialism if they were in the arena in the past.

We just do not have enough of them, just yet.

You have had years to build a conservative base. The lack of Conservatives over the years only reinforces illustrates the inability to mount any significant Conservative movement.

Third Party strategies are stupid and suicidal.

I see. You think a republicrat party that has increasingly embraced socialism over the years is preferable over a party founded on strong Conservative values. Restoring the two party system, with a conservative party over the one party system we have currently, will succeed.

I agree with you partially, but honestly, when Bush essentially told conservatives to "$#%^ off" during his illegal alien amnesty push he really, really damaged the GOP.

Along with letting the Dems' treason w/ respect to Iraq stand without response for years, the guy is not without blame.

Give it up. Bush kept the country safe for eight years

Bush destroyed the reputation of conservatives and handed the country over to socialism - but no more airplanes flew into buildings.

Yes, it most surely is a game, and a business, and there are proven strategies for success and obvious ways to fail.

You have chosen an obvious way to fail.

No. This is why you're so far off the mark, and why your way of thinking is helping destroy the country.

American government is supposed to be an expression of self-government of, by and for the people. "We the people" are the only hope of saving and restoring this free republic from the gamesmen, the power-mongers the money-grubbers and the political hacks.

It is the fault of the people who elected the rinos. Stop with the blaming Bush mantra.

Thank you! Seems finger pointing goes hand in hand with 'believing the lying media', not knowing which lever to pull, and other assorted mental diseases! One of the first 'lying media' presidents, Jimmuh Carter served only one term for that reason. Thank God Reagan was there to stand in for the ballot box 'anyone but the lying media'! Seems lying media has expanded to NEA, DOE, et al, force feeding our kids mush inlieu of an education!!!.

And YOU wish to do this through some kind of mind control?

Most voters are NOT “issue oriented”.

Most voters are NOT very ideological.

They will vote for a conservative that does not sound or look crazy, but -— we have to use MARKETING, PUBLIC RELATIONS and STRATEGY to win!

You look at politics much like a college professor teaching a course, and you expect your “class” to take your dictation and do what YOU want and repeat the things YOU believe!

It does not work that way, in real life, and that is why YOU are doomed to failure, with your Third Party idea!

The whole ideal of a Third Party will make a very large number of voters think you are a kook, to begin with.

Add to that the normal Party loyalty, among most Republicans and Democrats, and you can not possibly win.

Therefore, you MUST play the game!

The objective is to get enough conservatives elected to make a difference.

It is not our objective to change everybody's minds on every issue!

“Politics is not about saving souls, Politics is about getting souls to the polls”

“We need better representatives. But who in their right mind would want the job?”

I tend to agree with you Jim. However, we’re going to have to hold our noses and head into the belly of the beast. This is not going to be unlike fighting off the hordes in Lord of the Rings - not to minimize this, but to put an image to it. It’s going to be a sacrifice, it’s going to take a while, or even a really long time - but we need to rally - that is for sure.

“I think we would do well to pick those who don’t want the job, actually.”

Good point - or at least they really, really want to get back to a normal life, like many of the Amercian statesmen of old.
