Gunman in Iraqi uniform kills 2 U.S. soldiers

BAGHDAD - An attacker wearing an Iraqi army uniform shot to death two U.S. soldiers outside the volatile northern city of Mosul on Saturday, the U.S. military said.

"We have reports of a small arms fire attack in Hamam al-Alil, 12.5 miles south of Mosul," said Major Derrick Cheng, a spokesman for the U.S. military in Mosul and surrounding Nineveh province.

"There are initial reports of two U.S. soldiers killed in the attack ... According to initial reports, an individual dressed in an Iraqi army uniform fired on the coalition forces and was killed in the incident."

I expect Obama to apologize to the Iraqi people for our violent actions and the murder of this civilian. I assume the former US Senator in our White House is only waiting because Al Qaeda needs time to kill women and children and blame the bodies on our bloodthirsty soldiers. Be patient though; Murtha and Obama will be ready as soon as soon as the propaganda is set up.

My guess is that the Iranians sense Obama’s weakness and are newly-encouraged to resume their activities with the hope of getting us out of the way while Iraq is still militarily weak.

May not have been an Iraqi soldier, but a member of al Queda or another group who stole a uniform. Or it could have been one of those types who became an Iraqi soldier to gain access to American and Coalition soldiers.

Either way, one or two incidents does NOT mean all is lost. It just means that the Iraqi Army and Police, and the Coalition forces, need to stay vigilant.

Exactly right and Al Qaeda terrorists are doing the same as the Iranian terrorist regime.

Obama benefits from Iraq reversals, even though it is his job now. No matter what he will not get the blame.

You are right. However the terrorist attacks in Iraq have increased a lot in the last two months and even more so in the last three weeks not only against our US troops but even much more against the Iraqi people.

Both Al Qaeda terrorists with their Iraqi allies (Iraqi Sunnis) and the Iranian terrorist regime with their Iraqi allies (Iraqi Shia) have realized that Obama is the weakest President ever and they are greatly emboldened and are taking full advantage of his extreme weakness.

If we leave Iraq by the Obama plan that I am afraid that Iraq will be lost to both Al Qaeda terrorists and the Iranian terrorists. Soon after the whole Middle East will fall in the hands of the terrorists. If this happens then we are going to have a disaster worst than any nightmare we can imagine. If Pakistan falls in the hand of the Taliban terrorists then this disaster will be much worse.

I read the Atlanta Urinal today for free at Chick-Fil-a
the headline screamed out at me, “Iraq deaths up for April”
on page 4.

During the Previous administration this would have been
Page ONE.

As soon as we leave Iraq will fall under the sway of another Saddam. Iraq has ALWAYS been under a Saddam and ALWAYS will be under a Saddam.

The only interesting feature being what "The Divine One" and his Apostles will say to "explain" the return.

I do worry that things will fall apart when we leave. That being said I am getting more and more sickened by reading comments on FR that almost sound satisified over US deaths.

Blood and cultures run deep. The radicals are still bent on their mission. Perhaps the U.S. has been naive to believe otherwise. It pains me to think of all the wonderful American lives which have been spent to what avail?

Our troops were told to leave the cities - and now, in the hands of young democratic Iraq’s newly trained forces..........

fill in the rest.

Any freeper who does what you just described should be banned. One of the most important missions of this forum to unconditionally and greatly support our brave troops and pray for their victory and safety.

What gains??? I've said time and time again, once we pull out Moqtada al-Sadr will take over, the failure of the military to kill this one man will result in a black eye forever. He was in turkey the other day lining up support.

Our troops must realize that the POTUS does not support them. No one wants to give their lives for a lost cause. Let the Iraqis do the patrols bring the troops home now and let the loss be on the Messiah.
