Nasty rain came through our area, but I had no idea it was that bad so close to us.
My understand is that the injuries were to support staff, but no any players or coaches.

Early reports on these things are notoriously unreliable. Film on the Kentucky Derby broadcast shows the facility flattened from one end to the other.

Tornado sirens were blaring here in Plano, but after the weather had passed. We had strong straight line winds here, and heavy rain/hail.

3:15/3:20pm traning facility roof collapsed at Valley Ranch
- Rookie mini-training camp.
- 27 or so rookies - all safe.
- 4 staffers/coaches injured.
- All persons accounted for.
To: stainlessbanner
Watching the video, it looks like lots of ice/hail came down when the building collapsed. I don’t think it was a tornado, but hail/wind/rain that caused the total destruction of the facility.

KRLD is reporting that at least 60 have suffered some injuries (no deaths reported). It's chaos across two fields . . . I live in Plano (Collin County) 30 miles east, and we had warning sirens and tornado warnings immediately following the hit on the training camp. The funnel cloud moved on over us toward Interstate 30--Royce City and Greenville, but I don't have any updates on whether a tornado actually touched down. It's been a harrowing couple of hours around here (lots of lightning, straight-line wind, and heavy rain).
Thank the Good Lord for our lives. We can pick up the debris later.
Regards . . . Penny

Penny, I too am in Plano...It’s not over...We are headed for a rough night according to forecasters. The sirens were blaring here in N Plano about an hour ago, but it was after Ham radio (i am one) reported funnel clouds. I don’t think any touched down, but may have East of us.

Good news from KRLD in the last three minutes: It appears that ten have injuries, not the 58-60 reported earlier. One of the coaches said he felt as if he had been in a fight after lifting all the canvas and debris looking for downed people but didn't have actual injuries.
The Salvation Army rescue team is now on the scene to lend a hand before the next round of storms makes it impossible. Yes, batten down the hatches; more IS on the way!

Actually, to avoid criticism (I suppose), KRLD reporters have verified that at 3:15 pm a storm warning went out (not a tornado warning). Speculation is that 65- to-100-mph straightline winds could have caused this damage, not a tornado.

Reported that an assistant coach has neck injuries. Looks like everything else will be minor. There were cams in the tower inside the building that rode the building down. Probably will see that feed soon.
