Cavuto reports that donations are pouring in for the presidential library of former President George W. Bush. In 100 days, he's raised $100 million - an amount that former President Bill Clinton planned to raise in one year.

They should have a whole separate ‘Public Relations Wing’ where they can trumpet that Adminstration’s impressive history in this area.
They need to build it well, they need to build it strong, and they need to build it lasting. It may very well end up as one of only a small number of places where the truth might be learned. This current administration is off on a crusade to disembowel the truth and freedom in this country.
how much of it is saudi money?
All of it is unless he got some from Uranus.
AWESOME!!! THANK YOU MR. BUSH FOR KEEPING US SAFE!!
But he gave us Obama, who will destroy this great country. Too bad W wasn't a conservative. He could have been a great president.
Bush didn’t give us Obama. The ignorant class of the American public is to blame for that disaster. Eyes wide shut.

His public statements were frequently cringeworthy, and got progressively worse as his 2nd term wore on.
What would be in that wing? An empty space and the sound of crickets?
He needed a better teleprompter.
Well, they could reference Gulf War II, no attacks since 9/11, Signing the Late Term Abortion ban, tax cuts.
Oh, wait, to guys like you those things don’t count.
No, they could start with a statue to Scott McClellan, that legend of public relations who served the Bush Administration so admirably.
Seriously, could they have chosen a more unqualified, untalented stiff than this guy? He soiled that office for years with his less-than-even-mediocre work.
I'll bet the Bush library won't look like a trailer, either.

As Condi would say, DO YOUR HOMEWORK before making asinine statements:
“Much of the money was collected in the 100 days or so since Bush left the White House, a pace much faster than that of his recent predecessors. At least so far, none of it has come from overseas, the sources said.”
NOTE: It took Clinton 1 1/2 years to raise the same amount of money and MOST of it was from overseas.]

RIDDLE ME THIS:
1.) Who controlled Congress when President Reagan left office (versus most of his tenure in office)?
SENATE (1985-87) 53 Republicans / 47 Democrats
SENATE (1987-89) 55 Democrats / 45 Republicans
http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/history/one_item_and_teasers/partydiv.htm
HOUSE (1981-83) 242 Democrats / 192 Republicans
HOUSE (1989-91) 260 Democrats / 175 Republicans

2.) During the 1992 election cycle, on whom did the electorate blame the bad economy an assessment that delivered the White House to Bill Clinton?
According to Gallup, a majority blamed the economic policies of Ronald Reagan (who at the time had a lower post-presidency JA rating than Jimmy Carter 47% to 49%). [FYI: The election of Clinton lead directly to the attacks of 9/11/01.]
-
3.) Why do conservatives ignore President Reagans historic spending/deficits, as well as other center-left policies, e.g., amnesty, raising taxes, withdrawing troops from Lebanon which enabled OBL, and so on?
Ostensibly, ‘conservatives’ ignore Reagans deficits/center-left policies because he (Reagan) was fighting and winning a COLD war at the time.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I do believe that during his tenure, President Bush was fighting and winning a HOT war and a hot war trumps a cold war every time!

THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH FOR LOVING YOUR COUNTRY ENOUGH TO MAKE THE TOUGH DECISIONS NECESSARY KEEP US SAFE DESPITE THE POLITICAL COSTS!
[FYI: Even though President Bush’s JOB APPROVAL suffered during his second term, his PERSONAL APPROVAL rating never dropped below approximately 60% . . . The MSM may have convinced some in the voting public that the President’s policies were wrong; however, they failed to convince a majority of Americans that the President was anything but a GOOD man . . . There is a reason that in a shaky economy President Bush can still raise $100 million dollars in record time — much of the money in $100 to $500 increments!]
THANK YOU for your well-reasoned, INFORMED comments . . . They are a welcome contrast to the agenda- driven drivel that all too frequently passes for ‘enlightened’ commentary at FR!
GREAT NEWS!

BTW: I’m hoping to become a ‘Buckeye’ Texan soon!
...and he did it without ANY overseas donations!
Whereas....” Bill Clinton’s library planners had hoped to receive pledges of $100 million within a year of the end of his presidency, but a pardons scandal delayed that achievement for another year”
BWAAAHAAAAHAAAA!
Thanks for the great link and news, Deb!
Does that mean you are joining us down here sooner rather than later?
That would be GREAT news!
Do tell!
Wll, apparently there are a few folks who still like President Bush! ;o)
Nuts! Absolute rubbish. Here's why Obama got elected:
1. He is a front man for some extremely determined domestic and international Leftists who financed his mercurial rise up the political ladder. His rise was so swift, and built on nothing of substance, that it was like a fairy tale.
2. The domestic Left had been out of power in Congress since 1994, and in the White House since 2001. Because they believe power is their birthright, and because they failed to cheat Al Gore's way into the presidency, in 2008 the Left was powered by a frenzy of hate and resentment. That caused them to work harder, donate more, and flock to the polls in record numbers.
3. For different racist reasons, blacks and Hispanics also voted in huge numbers for Obama.
4. In direct mirror-image of the Left's frenzy, the Right was divided and spent by its years of electoral success. The divisions were demoralizing to potential Republican voters nationwide. Many on the Right appeared to hold greater hatred for anyone who wasn't perceived as a "true" conservative, than they did for the real enemy, international Leftism. Your post is simply more proof that such misplaced hatred still is alive and well among "conservatives."
Respectfully disagree.
Obama won because
1. Bush could not make the case for the war in Iraq with the American public
2. He abandoned his conservative base. Bush campaigned on a pledge to reduce the size of government, but saw the largest expansion of government in the history of our country, until zer0bama.
Wow, a million a day! Awesome!
Oops . . . sorry, I overlooked your post.
Hubby and I currently live in the Cincinnati area; however, we hope to make our move to Texas within the next 3-5 years . . . Other members of my family will make the move first and we will join them as soon as my daughter graduates from high school (and my son graduates from college — he needs my tuition remission).
Are you a transplanted Ohioan?
Born in Cincinnati. Grew up in AZ and FL, summers in OH. Moved to Texas for college. Fell in love with a native Texan - the rest is history.
Good luck with your move. Give me a shout if you have any questions about Dallas/Fort Worth.
Got any buckeye trees in your yard? :)
We have buckeye trees and lots of cardinals!:)
