Banned From Britain
Houston Chronicle ^

LONDON — For the first time, Britain today published a list of people barred from entering the country for allegedly fostering extremism or hatred, including Muslim extremists, a right-wing American radio host, an Israeli settler and jailed Russian gang members. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said she decided to publish the names of 16 of 22 people who have been banned by the government since October so others could better understand what sort of behavior Britain was not prepared to tolerate. She cited unidentified "public interest" reasons for not disclosing the other six names.

"I think it's important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here, the fact that it's a privilege to come and the sort of things that mean you won't be welcome in this country," Smith told GMTV.

Popular American talk-radio host, Michael Savage, who broadcasts from San Francisco and has called the Muslim holy book, the Quran, a "book of hate" is on the list. Savage also has enraged parents of children with autism by saying in most cases it's "a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out."

Thank you kindly for your support of my letter to the dangerous Ms. Smith. It is my understanding that she is on her way out of power in the next British election cycle and this is a last ditch attempt at drawing attention to herself. She has clearly picked the wrong free man to pick on. Savage will sue this wretched fascist and his supports, (myself included) will support his legal fund. It is interesting that Savage is not broadcast in England yet she names him as one of England’s top enemies. Does anyone smell the stench of B.O. behind this? I do.

The person who had that photo, if I recall correctly, was brought up on criminal charges himself for inciting violence and convicted.

Before you consider egging everyone you know to boycott Britain because of this one act by a stupid politician in the death throes of her career, you might consider balancing it against the fact that Britain was alone amongst your allies that sent a proportionally similar number of troops to Iraq in 2003, and still has thousands of combat troops deployed in the tougher southern theatre of Afghanistan searching out and fighting the people who attacked your country on 9-11 whilst with few other exceptions, most of your other so called ‘allies’ sent a token number of troops and deployed them in the North, far away from any serious fighting.
But I suppose none of that counts for anything when measured against one shock-jock having his privilege (and it is a privilege, not a right) to visit the UK revoked...

I honor and pray for all of our allied troops. As for the privilege thing, free travel is what makes us free. I won’t travel anywhere where the people think it is a privilege to cross their border. How ugly and arrogant. I am an American, my rights are God derived and God given, no bloody blaggard is going to tell me what my privileges are. It is not your western border that should concern you in the first place. You have Muslim conquistadors who think it is a privilege to invade your nation and will be soon be telling yo what your privileges are. “There is no England now”

Presumably then, you feel the same way about the millions of Mexican Citizens who are excercising their ‘god given right’ to cross the border into the US unchecked.

I might also add that if as you suggest, going into other countries is a right, there wouldn’t be much we could reasonably do to avoid being flooded with muslim immigrants either would there?
Fortunately, I take the view that it IS a privilege to go to foreign countries, so I feel no sense of hypocrisy at all about supporting measures to kick out and keep out those foreigners whom it would not be desirable to have in this country (not including Michael Savage, who I believe should be able to visit the UK, but it is not his ‘right’ as a foreign citizen to be anywhere other than the country he is a citizen of).

Basically, it boils down to this. Pretty much everyone in Britain hates New Labour and despises the useless, inept and borderline corrupt Home Secratary we have now. But barring some kind of satanic miracle, Labour is doomed at the next election. Doing damage to them is pretty much a moot point. But what a boycott can do is harm the country itself, a country which, despite our crappy stalinist-lite government, has stood by America, so I think the very least we are owed some leeway for having a stupid cow for home secratary, especially considering who your own fellow citizens recently voted into the Whitehouse. And after all, it isn’t the pollies who suffer from boycotts, it is the ordinary people....
