The GOP Doesn't Understand Sex [Meghan McCain on Bristol Palin, abortion, abstinence]

Bristol Palin's new abstinence campaign shines a light on the Republican Party's unhealthy attitude about sex and desire.
BY MEGHAN MCCAIN
The first time I ever heard about oral sex was during the Lewinsky scandal. Mostly, I remember being confused by President Clintons responseit depends on what the meaning of is is. When it comes to sex, politicians face all sorts of double standards: who is allowed to have sex with whom, what constitutes sex, and whether its appropriate, to name a few. Candies Foundations announcement that they were partnering with Bristol Palin to promote an abstinence-only campaign has caused me to reflect on my own experiences as a political daughter, and the role sex plays in defining the Republican party.
Let me get something straight: Bristol Palin, as an eighteen-year-old adult, is free to make her own choices and decide how she wants her life to unfold. But for whatever reasons, the American public and media remain overly engrossed in our politicians sex lives and, as in this case, those of their families. Theres an especially unhealthy attitude among conservatives. Daughters of Republican politicians arent expected to have sex, let alone enjoy itas if there were some strange chastity belt automatically attached to us female offspring. God forbid anyone talk realistically about life experiences and natural, sexual instincts. Nope, the answer is always abstinence.

It’s not the GOP’s role or responsibility to understand, discuss, debate, or have sex.
Once again, Meghan proves she’s not a smart girl.

LOL. What's going on in Megn’s life? She get any from that MTV girlfriend ?
The problem was Bristol Palin had a baby without being married stupid, not that she had sex. And the pro-lifer’s are just happy she is having the baby married or not. It's the democrat obsessed with the fact that she's not married, her buddies.

The worst sexual double standard in politics right now is that too many subconsciously believe Republican women are void of sexual desire altogether. If you have ever doubted if this young woman was as stupid as some claim, doubt no more.

Spoken like a true advocate of the sex positive "active at every age" movment.
A committed relationship would be better. This is also where monogamy comes in.
And while she was okay with marrying the baby's daddy, the father had other ideas and has seen fit to trash talk the Palins in the public press.
Be careful who you "sleep" with, you may be linked to that louse for 19 years in child support payments and bill collectors trying to collect from a deadbeat dad.
The father comes out against abstinence by the way, so long as it's the woman' "problem" I guess. Wonder what his take is on abortion.

LOL! Me too.
Ideals are not to be judged by how well you have adhered to them - we all make mistakes and fall short. But if you don't have any ideals or standards, you end up like - well, a ghetto baby mama or a bitter harridan like Meghan.
An interesting fact is that research in cemeteries in New England showed that a large number of people in the 17th and early 18th centuries must have been conceived before the marriage dates of their parents. However, their parents did marry and did produce stable families that shaped these people.
Things happen. But ideals are important, and you do the best you can - and if you fall down, you get up again and try to strive.

It seems the only way that True Republican Megan McCain can write an article helping the Republicans is by attacking them.
She complains about being the focus of the press in 2000 and then turns the focus back onto Bristol Palin.

Obviously MEGHAN MCCAIN needs some education. She has no business commenting on anything to do with the GOP but because she says stupid stuff and some of that stupid stuff is critical of the GOP, the MSM is happy to support her need to get attention. Lets cut out paying any attention to her and she might go away.

Conservatives know and understand sex as well as any lib.
I know enough about it to have been married for 27 years and have two children, both of whom are nicer and smarter than you, Meghan, ever will be.
My daughter is prettier, smarter, and will do more for herself and thus society than Meghan McCain. As long as the Dims and RINOs don't completely destroy our Country first.
