Could it be the latest sign that Mitt Romney is preparing to run for president again?

Hotline is reporting that Romney is making moves to establish his legal residency in New Hampshire -- site of the first-in-the-nation primary.

The former Massachusetts governor is selling homes in Belmont, Mass., and in Utah, and plans to spend time at his summer home on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in the Granite State, notes Hotline, the political blog of the National Journal.

Having the first GOP primary in flamingly liberal state like NH is part of the problem. The first primary needs to be moved to a real state instead.

If this is true, it doesn’t sound unwise on his part.

Well maybe a little because if he’s from New Hampshire then winning the primary there will be taken less seriously by the press.

Now, if he would just follow Specter’s lead on party choice, I would be happy to see him run in 2012.

This guy is just a rootless opportunist in every way, no home, no beliefs, not even a party, he goes wherever he sees an opportunity to promote himself for power.

FACTOID OF THE DAY:

As Gov of Massachusetts, Election2008-Spoiler Mitt "Lying Myth" Romney
actually raised taxes on New Hampshire residents.

Now how Romney is that?

Worse, Romney is fake who stabs GOP contenders like the
demented sore loser he is.

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.

(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Didn’t he buy a house in CA too, fueling speculation he was going for Governor?

This chart doesn’t prove anything other than that the residents of NH working in MA made more money over the period from 2002 to 2006. My earnings also increased in this period so the taxes I paid also increased.

He should move to Michigan and run for Governor there.

Whatever your opinion of Romney, the problem with the primary system is far too much weight on Iowa and New Hampshire. McCain practically lived in New Hampshire. Huckabee won Iowa by playing the religious bigotry card. Romney and Fred Thompson split the votes of economic conservatives. At this juncture, I see Sarah Palin as the only one who could potentially unite all three factions (social, economic and national defense conservatives).

Genuine Catholics (as opposed to CINOs) and Mormons are too big a part of the conservative base to stomach a bigot like Huckabee.

A significant minority of Evangelicals who can't put their hatred of these two groups behind their love of country are too big of part of the conservative base to elect anyone with the "wrong" religion. This means no Romney, Jindal or Eric Cantor, no matter how capable they might be (though a VP slot could be acceptable).

There may be others, but at this moment, Sarah is the only one I think capable of bridging that gap.

Who know? After enough years in exile, some conservatives will be willing to give up their insistence on a religious test. But not at this point in time.

That’s all we need is a repeat of 2008.

McCain loses in 2000, so it’s “his turn” to run in 2008.

Romney loses in 2008, so it’s his turn to run in 2012.

Enough of these establishment losers.

Romney is a good looking guy who would probably do well based on that alone. And he’d probably get a good deal of votes from the moderates.

But really, why are some people fighting for him NOW? This is the same point I’ve been making in other threads, during the 08 primary and more recently.

During the PRIMARY, we should not only be concerned with “electability” but also ‘CONSERVATISM”.

We can do better, with Palin in the wings and more importantly 4 more YEARS to find a better candidate than Mitt. I mean, he sounds like a nice guy, I’m pretty sure he is, but sheesh, I don’t know why a vocal minority is allowed to promote him NOW, on FR.

Every claim of his conservatism I have seen shot down on FR, with reason and logic. Unless a Romney lover can convince me otherwise, and soon, I think it’s time to drop this guy like a hot potato.

I'd like it very much if all the primaries were held on the same day.
I'd also like to do away with those gotta be first caucuses.

Actually...obsessed with ridding the GOP of liberals like Romney, as well as his sycophantic followers.
