Today, the private services companies disappear, we dont need them, the people and workers can do the labor and be more efficient, Chavez said in reference to the Oklahoma-based Williams Co assets. Were going to bury capitalism in Venezuela.
Oh, its not the parties, its because the prez is learning how to take over businesses here, and just added this to his agenda.
Cut all trade and bomb into submission.

Williams Cos. is classified as a “Pipelines” industry
What do you mean? Obama can’t do that! Our constitution prevents the seizure of private property without just compensation.
< /sarc
His buddy Castro sure proved that in Cuba, eh?
We are now powerless.
I wonder how much campaign money Chavez poured into Obama's campaign.
Obama is watching how Chavez gets away with these kind of things so he can do it to us too. From all indications, Obama will be much worse than Chavez because he's twice as evil.
Also, I really have to wonder how closely our military leadership is watching events unfold in the our capitol.
Obama will be ten thousand times worse because ten thousand times the amount to steal.

Maybe you missed it. 0bama is doing the same thing here in the US. He just hasn’t had to use troops, yet.
... and dream on.
So sad, too bad.
Classic case of sitting on the wrong end of the branch while sawing.
Today, the private auto companies disappear, we dont need them, the people and workers can do the labor and be more efficient, Obama said in reference to the Detroit-based Chrysler Co assets. Were going to bury capitalism in America.
Not to mention the fact that Chavez also seems to have a sense of humor.
Did he actually say “Comrade Obama”? :O
Any U.S. company that continues to sell them the supplies and equipment they need should be sanctioned. A naval blockade would sent this communist the right message. How long until Venezuela is as poor and miserable as Cuba? Already, any Venezuelan with good sense, who could manage it, has moved to Miami.
Oh yeah... this is why collectivist farms worked out really well in former USSR... /sarc
chavez is doing to the U.S. what obama is doing to the U.S. -pushing the limit to see just how far they can.
>Did he actually say Comrade Obama?

Do they have the expertise to use the seized assets? What happens to the US employees?
All together now: Emboldened!
Did not Hitler call Mussolini his teacher? Well, Hugo has a new student named Barry. This is getting very unnerving.
Chavez started his crackdowns on private corporations and the press long before Obama was elected president.
Obuma must have gave him a few pointers in the meeting they were at.
This sucks, but at this point if they’re doing business there, and haven’t figured the obvious risk of this happening into their business model, then they’re fools; and, if they’re doing business with Chavez, they deserve what they get.
And, by the way
DON’T BUY GAS FROM CITGO!
‘zackly. Why did Williams hang around for more than a year after Hugo quit paying them for drilling services ?
“Military vehicles were used as the state oil company seized supply boats and two US-owned gas facilities.”
Does it mean US company owned, or US government owned? Companies should be smarter than to place assets in sovereign nations like Venezuela.
Excellent and my thoughts exactly as I read the quote.
Ah ha, so this is what Hugo meant when he said he’d see if Hussein was a liar or not. Shaking hands and making deals with all our enemies.
I imagine the gas services company bought insurance against state siezure of their property.
I rather doubt Chrysler did.
Plus, the financial loss is not the true issue, but the loss of liberty.
Obama’s acquiescence just encourages the dictators/bandits, but I repeat myself.
The laid those pipes along time ago... way before Chavez.
Those pipes and assets were in place long before Chavez came on the scene.
Halliburton’s ops are still “safe” there, but the two parties are haggling on past due bills. So for now Dick is holding back on calling for the bombing of Chavez back to the stone age, for now.
“Plus, the financial loss is not the true issue, but the loss of liberty.”
Exactly.
Nothing.
How is that “branding of Obama” working for you, Voodoo Priestess?
Why no companies named?
There were people back then who said Chavez would seize all US businesses.
Oh, well, maybe the next business owner will learn from this and not do business with Chavez.
Sanctions on Chavez are definitely called for.
After a long period of non-payment by Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PdVSA), Williams recently issued notices of default under its services agreements. The seizure of assets and termination of the associated contracts trigger rights to receive payment for the seized assets. The contracts and international law call for international arbitration of any disputes concerning those payments.
More here
Probably insured though AIG. Oh well.......
Or enron.
Originally.. Williams does all sorts of stuff. Almost went out of business a while ago because they were laying internet backbone all over the place that turned out not to be needed.
The proper response is carpet bombing until they give them up.
I guess if you say a bad word about Chavez, you can be shot... Unless they really need you...
I imagine Obama thinks the new wave of slavery engulfing the world is a good thing -- especially since he is one of the master's and not a slave...
