Chavez steals US assets and Obama is too busy throwing parties at the white house and spending our grandchildren's future to do anything to stop this man.

“Today, the private services companies disappear, we don’t need them, the people and workers can do the labor and be more efficient,” Chavez said in reference to the Oklahoma-based Williams Co assets. “We’re going to bury capitalism in Venezuela.”

Oh, its not the parties, its because the prez is learning how to take over businesses here, and just added this to his agenda.

What do you mean? Obama can’t do that! Our constitution prevents the seizure of private property without just compensation.

Every third world dictator is watching!

We are now powerless.

I wonder how much campaign money Chavez poured into Obama's campaign.

Obama is watching how Chavez gets away with these kind of things so he can do it to us too. From all indications, Obama will be much worse than Chavez because he's twice as evil.

Any U.S. company that continues to sell them the supplies and equipment they need should be sanctioned. A naval blockade would sent this communist the right message. How long until Venezuela is as poor and miserable as Cuba? Already, any Venezuelan with good sense, who could manage it, has moved to Miami.

This sucks, but at this point if they’re doing business there, and haven’t figured the obvious risk of this happening into their business model, then they’re fools; and, if they’re doing business with Chavez, they deserve what they get.

And, by the way

DON’T BUY GAS FROM CITGO!

“Military vehicles were used as the state oil company seized supply boats and two US-owned gas facilities.”

Does it mean US company owned, or US government owned? Companies should be smarter than to place assets in sovereign nations like Venezuela.

Pity the owners of these business didn't see this coming when Chavez became president and leave Venezuela then.

There were people back then who said Chavez would seize all US businesses.

Oh, well, maybe the next business owner will learn from this and not do business with Chavez.

Sanctions on Chavez are definitely called for.

TULSA, Okla., May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Williams (NYSE: WMB) today confirmed reports that the Venezuelan government has seized two assets - El Furrial and PIGAP II - that the company operates in Venezuela.

After a long period of non-payment by Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PdVSA), Williams recently issued notices of default under its services agreements. The seizure of assets and termination of the associated contracts trigger rights to receive payment for the seized assets. The contracts and international law call for international arbitration of any disputes concerning those payments.
