We were out on my friend's back porch the other night. Unfortunately, discussion led into politics. During our discussion we all agreed that this administration is making A LOT of bad decisions. However, we started to discuss if the Obama administration were just a bunch of people doing what they thought was BEST for the country. I said, "No, I believe this group knows exactly what they are doing and it's to take control of this country and take all the wealth....they are doing this intentionally". Well, it got a bit heated and my buddy kept saying that they were doing what they thought was best for this country....but they would NEVER intentionally do this country harm. OK, this is were we had that "awkward silence". I said, "isn't it all relative"? "You could say Hitler, Chavez, Saddam, etc thought they had good intentions as well...correct"? "They thought what they were doing was the best for the people and themselves...correct?" That did it....I got the total silence and the quick comment "that's a very extreme view....so how about them Phillies..."

I cannot rationalize Obama’s actions with the concept that he’s a well-meaning fool. Nope. This is so blatantly bad, so nakedly anti-American, so willfully supportive of the goals of Islamic terrorists, that I have no doubt at all that Obama is going to spend 4 years destroying this country, completely on purpose.
Even the official line from the government in Beijing is that Chairman Mao made some serious mistakes although the citizenry there who lived through it will privately tell you he was a megalomaniac.

Great question; one I know I have struggled with, as I’m sure others have as well.
I think everyone is at a different stage of realization. What I hope is happening is that folks are starting to “think” something just isn’t right with the current state of the country. Maybe they can’t put their finger on it, but I think maybe a sense of foreboding is starting to take hold. A “feeling” (a term I hate to use because the left uses it) that nothing good can come from the decisions/actions of this administration.
Then comes your question: Is this intentional (whether well intentioned or malevolent) or is it just naive incompetence?
If you are wrong, then history shows that Americans will wake up at some point and kick the pendulum in the other direction (i.e., Carter out/Reagan in). If you are right, then I’m afraid that the stage is being set for an ugly battle. A battle closing in on the visible horizon. Sadly, I tend to agree with you . . .

I’m sure President Obama is doing what he thinks is right, but that doesn’t make it any less dangerous. Unfortunately, I’m noticing FReepers getting all worked up over trivial side issues, claiming this or that is evidence that he’s out to destroy America, thinks he’s above the law, yadda, yadda, instead of staying focused on the really dangerous things he’s trying to do, such as expand the socialization of health care. We need to identify the important issues, and stay focused on fighting the Obama administration’s dangerous initiatives in those areas, instead of carrying on endlessly with personal attacks on the man, and preposterous claims of conspiracies involving him and his senior advisers.
Example: The recent AF1 photo shoot flight. There were people on FR claiming that President Obama knew all about this in advance and *deliberately* kept it secret because he *wanted* to terrify NYC area residents. Uh huh, sure. That’s what he does all day — tries to think up ways to terrify people in areas that overwhelmingly voted for him.
An even sillier example from further back: There were numerous threads on on Obama and his half-sister scattering their grandmother’s ashes of a seaside cliff in Hawaii. Every single thread I saw had numerous people claiming that this was illegal, citing some federal law about national waters, and claiming that he obviously knew it was illegal and did it anyway because “he thinks he’s above the law”. No matter how many times somebody pointed out that the federal law did not apply to waters this close to the shore, because those fell under Hawaii law, under which the scattering was perfectly legal, the threads and posts continued to crop up. Many FReepers managed to completely forget that they claim to support state sovereignty and oppose meddlesome federal regulations, in their eagerness to claim evil, law-breaking intent on Obama’s part.

It is unassailable that Obambi etal are making fundamental changes in the way America works. The move toward a European style socialist structure is underway in many areas which you and your friends well know.

The argument is the manifestation of these policies. Your position is that these policies will “destroy” the country, other's are not so sure that they will. If your world view is such that going green is good, that everyone deserves free health care and the rich should pay more taxes then these policies will not destroy America, they will simply remake it more consistent with that view. If you enjoy the freedoms and benefits of capitalism and think these policies will take that away, the Obambi is destroying America.
But we all know that these policies will change America in ways most would not like to see it changed.

this is where the rubber hits the road; you either believe evil exists, or you don’t.

I suggest we put pressure on the Muslims he claims he will stand with against Christians and Jews in his book. Start protesting them and pestering the Saudi embassy for their crimes against women. The faster we make him implode and start reacting tyrannically, the faster we could get him out of office. Saudi’s want at least 58 dollars a barrel for oil. We slow our buying again like we did last summer.
