....And naturally the wingnuts over at the bastion of intelligentsia that is Free Republic had lots to say, this coming from "Las Vegas Ron"...
The good news is that stuff like this takes its toll, and not on the objects of attack. I don't know if Obama realizes it, but he is generating racial tension.
After reading how his pick to lead the US Forest Service had no previous USFS background, a fellow commented, "Why do I expect he's black?"
I thought it was in poor taste, but then, sure enough - the pick is a black man known for supporting fellow minorities.
Picking a trashy black lesbian to do bitter stand-up that will be replayed on TV doesn't help the President. In fact, it makes him look like what he is - a bitter racist whose chief qualification, in his mind even, seems to be "I'm Black. I'm Cool."
And having the adoring press there laughing reminds folks that the people who bring them news' are firmly in Obama's hip pocket...or even further in his shorts.
I watched about half of her performance. The word I kept thinking was, "Ghetto". And I doubt I'm the only one.
A month ago, I made a joke about needing to be on the receiving end of some income redistribution. The salesman smiled and replied, "We're the wrong skin color - all we're allowed to do is give." I was shocked because I had never had a salesman say something like that in front of me. But I think a lot of folks are starting to feel like this is a BLACK Administration - no whites need apply. And that is very bad for racial harmony.....

You got mentioned!
“To all of this I say...IT’S A FREAKING ROAST PEOPLE! The humor is supposed to be below the belt.”
Um, yeah, except they were SUPPOSED to be ‘roasting’ the President. Not someone who wasn’t even there.
Why do liberals have such a problem with logic!?
Dumb bustard can't get anything right though.
I posted the thread they mentioned but it was Mr Rogers post #19 that was referrenced.
The credit belongs to him :(
Gotta run, there's a knock at the door :)
To bad you couldn’t get the credit!:(
I was going to comment over there but you have to provide an email address....I'll take a pass, would be a waste of time anyway
Now that's just racist./sarc
They're gonna love the backlash if this crap keeps up.
O is loving this, I wouldn't be surprised if he picked the comedian because she was black and homosexual knowing it would bring all of the racism and ranting out of the woodwork from the right, so he can hold conservative up as haters. If he did it worked!
I'm sorry to say but O and the comedian won this one over the freepers.
I just read that thread and you are 100% full of crap. If THAT is racist, Obama has won nothing, because 99% of the population would agree with every word.
Thanks for the ping. The whole point of my post is that Obama is CAUSING racial divides where they didn’t exist before. It is like affirmative action - if you hire someone who isn’t competent because of skin color or sex, the folks working there notice and RESENT it. Affirmative action doesn’t solve racial tension, it creates it.
And when the first black President of the US presses for income transfers, working people paying for others mortgages, and smiles at behavior like this woman’s monologue, it gets noticed - and resented.
I don’t WANT racial tension. I abhor it. And I’m appalled this President is doing what, frankly, he promised - use his administration to promote ‘economic justice’, which is the sort of racism Rev Wright preached to him for 20 years.
Surprise, it was never posted after they reviewed the submission...so typical.
He's transferring the wealth of many Americans, not just white. There isn't a racial test on whose money he takes. There are black people etc., at every economic level. You are the person stuck on race. You can't seem top get past it. You're probably one of those people that think if a black guy has a job he took it away from you. Maybe he was more qualified. Believe it or not there are as many competent black people as white people, and vice avers a.
I didn't like the fact he laughed at the monologue, but it had nothing to do with race. I felt it unbecoming a POTUS. You seem to not like the fact a black guy is laughing at a white guy.
Not the happiest phrase to use. I'd ask you to reconsider that line of criticism.
You seem to have missed the point. In nearly 50 years, no one had come up to me and volunteered racial bitterness. When a Filipino thinks he is getting ‘too white’ for the US government to care about him, and volunteers that info to a 50 year old white guy he barely knows - you have racial tension BUILDING.
Obama ran as a ‘uniter’, but he has governed as a divider.
In case you missed it, mortgages were being evaluated, not on credit worthiness, but on race. So now those who could afford their homes get to shell out cash for those who could not - of any race, but it was actively promoted to encourage MINORITY home buying.
In case you missed it, minorities ARE hardest hit by poverty. I think it is because black, and to a lesser extent, brown, culture tolerates kids out of wedlock and considers education as a tool of white domination. I think this because asians seem to be quite capable of getting ahead without government programs. But Obama clearly lays the blame at racism. If you doubt that, read his books. I have.
And as he made clear in interviews, he sees income redistribution as a tool to bring equality to different races. He is the one who said blacks paid too much attention to racial equality without addressing income redistribution.
My point was that when the President of the US acts like he’s a rapper, he hurts his own political standing. When near strangers, including Filipinos, tell me they aren’t dark enough for the government to care about them, that is a bad thing.
So knock off your crap speculation about my racial opinions. If Obama keeps on acting like a South Chicago politician rather than President, he’ll exacerbate racial distrust and anger - and that is a very bad thing.
His behavior at that show may play well in Chicago, but it reinforces a growing impression that he is a racist who wants not to just cleanse himself of his white blood (read his book), but that he is out to get non-blacks. That is bad for him and bad for us. Period. Maybe that doesn’t bother you. It bothers me.
As I said in my original post:
“A month ago, I made a joke about needing to be on the receiving end of some income redistribution. The salesman smiled and replied, “We’re the wrong skin color - all we’re allowed to do is give.” I was shocked because I had never had a salesman say something like that in front of me.
