Oh, boy, Wanda Sykes is in trouble. That's what you get when you make fun of Rush Limbaugh.
But while conservatives were screaming Monday, let's face it: Sykes said something mean but also funny about the right-leaning Limbaugh at the White House Correspondents Association dinner Saturday night.
Boy, Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails – so you said you hope America fails ....To me, that's treason. He's not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, 'cause I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker, but he was just so strung out on Oxycontin he missed his flight.
These dinners are supposed to feature sharp-elbowed humor, and Sykes delivered.
In fact, she also poked plenty of fun at President Barack Obama and others in his administration, a required part of the program.
But by Monday afternoon, her comments on Limbaugh were drawing ridicule from the right -- and a bit of admonition from the White House.
Spokesman Robert Gibbs said he hadn't talked to the president, but added:
"I think there are a lot of topics that are better left for serious reflection rather than comedy. I think there's no doubt 9/11 is part of that."
Then again, Sykes wasn't joking about people being murdered by terrorists. She was comparing Limbaugh to a terrorist for his comments about the Obama administration.
Over the top? Probably. Funny? To some, yes. As Sykes even said after her comparison of Limbaugh to a terrorist:
"Too much? But you're laughing inside."
Yes, plenty of Limbaugh critics were doing just that on Monday, even as they awaited the usual apology from the White House and others who attack the radio talk-show host.

I thought she was telling jokes, not comparing Limbaugh to a team of terrorists who cost this nation a fortune and murdered 3,000 people.
She was far less funny than oh, say Trent Lott. And what happened to him?
if she was “so funny” why was her show cancelled so fast? every movie she was in has bombed.
Funny, huh? Let’s hear jokes even remotely similar with Lord Obama as the target and watch the fur fly. And no, that skank was not funny.

I recall too when Micheal Moore, mouthpiece of the Left establishment (they wouldn’t have given him Oscars if they didn’t love him), said that Al Qaeda’s “freedom fighters” in Iraq would “win” Mr. Bush.
That was treason. THAT was open support for the enemy in a time of war.
Where has Mr. Limbaugh ever said he stands by (or understands compasionately why) Osama bin Laden?
If anyone has something in common with Osama, it’s Obama. They BOTH have friends who’ve bombed the Pentagon.
Did she tell any insulting jokes about Barack Obama who has publicly come out AGAINST same sex marriage?
Yael forgot to clear this with the White House. They didn;t think it was funny.

Fox and Wanda Sykes are back in business. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the network is in final negotiations to give the comedienne a Saturday late-night talk-show. Tentatively slated for a fall premiere, the hourlong show, which will include a discussion panel and field segments, will replace MadTV.
Then why did Obama laugh?
He laughed before he didn’t laugh.
Just another reason the KC Star is going into the ditch.
I’ll find Wanda funny when she announces she is dying from sickle cell anemia.

(Yes, I read the article, and yes I have read several of his articles - he’s a Rush hater from way back - but I still think it’s interesting - you know - with his name and all. This is the same guy who ‘remember’ which Phil(l) Kline is who in KC by noting to himself that the one with 2 ‘l’s is the liar. So name jokes should be acceptable in his world.)

JFK smoked pot, used LSD, and painkillers while in the white house. The only reason he didn’t dabble in crack is that it wasn’t invented yet.
And yet, nowhere in her reported remarks do I see she jokingly equated him with a terrorist, or suggested it would be really funny if President Obama should die a horrible wasting death from failure of his internal organs (as my mother did, for that matter.)
Over the top? Perhaps if she had joked that the President was a terrorist who should be lynched? Now, that would be over the top.
DISCLAIMER: For lurking Democrats, Liberals, Race-baiters and other such ready to be offended idiots...did that just offend you? Good. Please note I do not wish any harm to the President (unlike the wish this speaker made towards Rush.) I do not wish or promote any pain or suffering towrds the President, my political opposite (unlike the speaker just did to Rush.) While I find his point of view dispicable and his recent political actions reprehensible, I think that something shouldn't be joked about...causing human suffering should be one of them. And yet...there I just did. And I hope that all of you People Who Are Always Ready To Be Offended understand now how offended we are that someone attacked Rush, and by extension, all of us, in this insensitive matter. The sad thing is, you won't. Because you lack the basic human empathy to project the feelings of others into yourself; thus you can be offended all day long when someone makes cruel fun of what you hold dear, but not have enough human sympathy to imagine that you might be offending and hurting others with obvious hate speech when one of your own suggests that kidney failure is funny...in a Republican. I wish you had half the human kindness you imagine you have, and I wish you could understand the horrible double standard you live with every day.
The funniest thing she’s ever done was a PSA urging teens not to use the term “GAY” when criticizing something as dumb or uncool! That gave me a good laugh!!
