How many people are burning their INSURANCE CARD and running to CANADA for healthcare????
If "socialized medicine" was the great thing they promise it will be, we'd see a mass exodus to the northern border.

As usual, they look for more ways to steal money, rather than cutting what’s essentially a waste of money in the first place.
Hey, I just came up with a new saying: “Stealing money to waste money.” The political version of that phrase we’re all familiar with.

Congress Getting a Pay Raise How About You?
From 1789 to 1855, members of Congress received only a per diem (daily payment) of $6.00 to $7.00 while in session, except for a period from December 1815 to March 1817, when they received $1,500 a year. Members began receiving a regular annual salary in 1855, when they were paid $3,000 per year.
During the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin proposed that elected government officials not be paid for their service. Franklins proposal won little support. As you might guess, this years automatic raise for Congress coming as millions of American workers are giving up their cost-of-living raises in an effort to save their jobs if they still have them has similarly won little support.

I experienced stupidity at work today when a substitute teacher, thinking that I’m liberal, was praising the fact that we now have a President who is providing support for the bottom 80% of the country. He discovered quickly that I don’t subscribe to his lunacy. He’s a fool if he believes that Obama’s not going to be taking more of his money (and he’s getting ready to fully retire - good luck living on what Obama leaves him) in these tax increases that are coming to us all.

I’m curious then as to why I’ve already experienced a sizable increases in the taxes I’m now paying compared to before November 8th. My pay didn’t increase.

limiting but not eliminating the tax-free status of employer-provided health benefits
I have suspected all along that as soon as the Obamahealth became a reality that my employer would cease offering me health insurance - why should the employer pick up the costs if they can offload it to the Govt?
Eliminate the tax-free status to the empoyee, and that is one more reason for a person to leave whatever private insurance plans are left. Just more LIES from the Zer0.

Indeed, its probably now, soon or never!
I get the feeling that outside of a small group of people listening to talk radio (small as a percent of 300 million popuation in America) most Americans are still sound asleep and worshiping their false idol - the Zer0.
I hear people almost on a daily basis stating over and over "we have to give the man a chance to clean up 8 years of Bush trashing our Constitution and destroying the economy by eliminating all regulations - Zer0 cannot undo it 100 days what GWB took 8 years to destroy " - never mind this type of comment is totally false. The old saying that if you repeat a lie over and over it eventually becomes a fact, has worked very very well with the DNC media and their dumbed down audience. Goebbels would be soooo very proud of his proteges - the Zer0, Gibbs, and Emanuel.

Not actually a co-worker - he’s just a sub now as he’s semi-retired. Until today I’d never seen the guy before. He started this conversation with my in front of the students he in the class he was substituting for - and, I’m not even sure why the subject came up. I was there with another teacher who was trying to locate a form we needed from the real classroom teacher. It seems to me he felt safe in bringing this subject up with me for some reason or other. When he happily stated that he’d voted for Obama, I replied, “I’m Sorry”.

There will be no employer paid or partially paid healthcare if obama does this. That is what obama wants. Everyone on government universal care except him and his thugs who will be in a elite care group as they are now. The only way companies can afford to offer healthcare is the tax breaks.
every move obama makes is to secure more power over the people and destroy corporations.

Proponents of repealing the benefit say it encourages lavish health insurance what a load of cow pasture. I know no one who has a lavish health insurance plan except congress. And we have one of the best but at a huge cost to us.
They have no right to butt into our personal lives like this and take away our hard earned healthcare so illegals and those who refuse to pay a dime can get free healthcare.
and how much can obama destroy in others wealth before he is stopped? Republicans are sc**wing us too on this.
Protesters who back government-run health care disrupted the Finance Committee hearing. Police ejected five doctors and nurses after they interrupted Baucus and Grassley at the start of the session.
Surely this is a misprint. Who do not back it must mean or they are lying. I do not know one doctor who wants government run healthcare. They all say it will destroy them. They can't make it now when medicare or medi-cal stops payments because they are out of money.

hey you got something there. I forgot about that.
With obama he would just secure their benefits under federal insurance or something similar.

Yes, looks like they will once again tax the responsible people who make health care coverage a priority while rewarding those who do not. The 45Million they speak of as uncovered is a mis-leading number. Some of my family work for the Government- they see first hand a good number of government employees who don't want to pay for health care by having it taken from their pay checks. They use the emergencies rooms though many of these workers can afford to pay- drive new cars, etc.
I've said this before on FR but nationalized health care will cost YOU more than you can imagine. I work for two individuals in Europe who live under the system. One pays 18% of his Gross income for ‘free’ healthcare he can't even use- and he then bought his own private care. The other pays 22% (UK) as he has a business. He too bought private care on top of the huge amount they tax him as his wife was told (by the free system hospital) that her wait for emergency gall bladder surgery would be ten weeks.
God help us....I pray the Republicans get smart and put out ads with some of those living under the so called free system. I change minds when I share this with liberals & IF the Republicans figure out marketing- people will be frightened (and should be) and oppose this.
