WASHINGTON (AP) - The parents of slain Army Ranger and NFL star Pat Tillman voiced concerns Tuesday that the general who played a role in mischaracterizing his death could be put in charge of military operations in Afghanistan. In a brief interview with The Associated Press, Pat Tillman Sr. accused Lt. Gen. Stanley McChrystal of covering up the circumstances of the 2004 slaying.
"I do believe that guy participated in a falsified homicide investigation," Pat Tillman Sr. said.

Just the sort of person Obama would want in charge..
So McChrystal stands accused of trying to ensure that Tillman was remembered as a hero?
Why does this make me feel uncomfortable?
I think he is remembered for being a hero. Perhaps the good general was trying to cover his own ***.
Crap. Here we go again.
McCrystal also approved of severe and rough handling of captured Al Qaeda prisoners to get information. He’ll never be approved. San Fran Nan will crucify him.
I don’t know. I’m honestly not that familiar with the facts of the case. I don’t know whether he was trying to protect himself, whether he was trying to cover for other soldiers, whether he was trying to shield the parents from the pain of a friendly-fire death, or many other possibilities. I’m certainly not willing to judge this man based on this article.
Why don’t these people shut up and go away already?. Their son was brave. Some well-meaning people put the best face on his death, when they shouldn’t have. Do they want someone to go to prison? Happens all the time when famous people go to war. If Clark Gable or Jimmy Stewart got shot down in their B-17, i bet he would have scored a perfect hit on the target. Probably almost killing Hitler too.
Pat Tillman answered the countrys call bravely, and he have his all. He was a good example to a lot of kids im certain. Parents dishonor their lost kids with non-stop demands for investigations IMO. They got the truth years ago.
Lots of other parents lost kids due to tactical mistakes, etc,, mostly they show some class and don’t try to tear the Army their kid loved down.
I have oft times wondered what would become of us once the MacArthurs, LeMays, Pullers, Carlsons, and, of course, George Pattons would not be there when we really needed them...bad!
Letting personal bitterness towards this general because of that one mistake might deprive us of a man we need, when we need him. The familes of the soldier patton slapped wanted him send home too. Glad they werent listened to.
The sad part is, they probably will get put on a pedestal by the dems, and we will get a more sensitive general. Maybe Karpinski is available.
Now we know why Berry put him in charge. He wanted someone who could be blackmailed and manipulated.
Maybe because you don’t know the subject matter completely....
Because of Bosnia and Kosovo and every other botched multinational conflict that was not fought as an all out war and in which some participants dont care which side wins.
I love Puller. Thats where I got my Tagline. I also wish there was some more emphasis put on valorous men.
Look what happened to recent War Hero candidates since WWII. Granted, they may have been moderate or not run good campaigns, but they were not respected 1 bit by the alphabet soup media.
I thought that was pretty damn weird too, putting a liar in there

This made me try to remember if Nick Berg’s parents wanted to sue the jihadis...nope, I remember, they blamed Bush.
Friendly fire happens, unfortunately...why are these people characterizing it as “homicide”?
