Analysis: Cheney attacks may not help GOP (Once again, MSM claims speaking truth is attack on Obama)

To the chagrin, perhaps, of Republicans looking to rebuild the tattered party, Dick Cheney has grabbed the spotlight.

The recurring theme of the once-reclusive and largely unpopular former vice president: President Barack Obama has put Americans in danger of a new terrorist attack by promising to close the Guantanamo Bay prison and banning torture.

When Obama took office, former President George W. Bush went quietly to his new house in Texas, slipped intentionally into anonymity and honored protocol by staying silent about his successor.

But Cheney, widely remembered for heading to undisclosed secure locations at times of national crisis and for working invisibly behind the scenes, has done just the opposite.

Thank you and I don't think Cheney is trying to save the GOP--he's trying to save his country.

Cheney is a great man!!! We cannot ever lose sight of the fact that Bush chose Cheney to be his VP.

Dick Cheney has every right to speak up! Somebody has to, no other Republican is doing it!!!

This is not true. Cheney is more high profile than others so they are at least giving him a platform from which to speak.

It pains me to say this but, if an attack occurs and it will, in a liberal city, I gotta say that my sympathies are wearing very, very thin for the idiots that voted for this vile individual. They have put their own lives in danger as well as their families and neighbors and then they viciously attack anyone who might raise a question. My attitude towards the libs are oh, well. I feel so removed from them that I don’t think I would shed a tear, and to me that is sad.

To watch with what evil these people operate is astounding to behold. None of them fear consequences for their behavior, and I suppose it’s only right they tend to be atheists or think the next life will honor people as corrupt and vicious as them. But this is nothing but the same old, same old and they keep grasping onto anything to avoid criticism and focus on 0bama. And it’s nothing but a continuation of the demonization of Cheney! But they do have something to fear as Cheney’s words will hit home so obviously they would like him to ‘shut up’. Cheney is a hero for this.

Cheney is a patriot, and his sole interest is to protect this nation from the inexperienced and reckless Kenyan.

Why is no one standing alongside Dick Cheney and defending him and his viewpoint from the GOP?

Where’s McConnell, where’s Bonior, where’s the GOP caucus? Where’s Colin Powell?(/s)

The Dems are ALWAYS in sych and on message.

The GOP is showing themselves as losers once again, thinking, well, we won’t get our hands dirty in all of this.

The GOP called last week asking why we haven’t been sending in any money.

My wife told the guy “ Until you guys start fighting the Dems tooth and nail on all their lies and fight this President, you aren’t seeing a DIME!”

She’s so awesome.

Well, as the Wall Street types are discovering, Obama doesn’t deliver, or rather, he does deliver exactly what he said he would.

National Security is not something Obama cares about, in fact, it is something those that voted for him do not see as a reason not to vote for Obama.

There is no such thing as a free lunch, as they will discover if some major metro areas is attacked by Terrorists.,

My son graduates next week, he was accepted to college but is very torn about joining the Marines. He went again yesterday to meet with the recruiter. I am torn as well. I support the troops wholeheartedly, and I do not want to be a hypocrit, but I don’t want my son serving under Obama and this democratic congress. I wish he would go to school for the next 2 yrs. and wait until the midterm elections. I have had family serving since we the beginning in 2002 when we went to Afghanistan up til now, I am more worried now than for their safety than I was over the past few years. Ultimately it will be my son’s decision. All of the people he looks up to the most in our family are veterans. He picks good role models.
