Obama, House Leaders Promise Health Bill By August

WASHINGTON (CBS) - President Obama and key congressional leaders announced on Wednesday that the House of Representatives will vote on a comprehensive health care reform package before August.
"Our legislation will be on the floor by the end of July, I am quite certain," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said outside the White House.
Mr. Obama and Vice President Joe Biden had just finished meeting in the Oval Office with congressional Democratic leaders heading up health care reform, including Pelosi, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, House Ways and Means Committee Chair Rep. Charlie Rangel, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Rep. Henry Waxman, and House Education and Labor Committee Chair Rep. George Miller.
"We've got to get it done this year," Mr. Obama said with respect to health care reform. Repeating himself for emphasis, the president said, "We've got to get it done this year. Both in the House and the Senate. We don't have any excuses. The stars are aligned."
The president played down criticisms about the cost of health care reform - the administration has estimated the president's reform proposals would cost the federal government at least $634 billion over 10 years.
"People across the political spectrum like to throw barbs...about debt and deficits," Mr. Obama said, adding that "the most significant driver by far (of growing national debt) is ever-escalating health care costs."

Will cost them that much to set up, and then they’ll come back to the people and say, we need more, and we’ll pony up 2 trillion.
If you and your family want decent health care, we MUST insist the people get the same health care benefits as Congress and the President, and those benefits and coverage should be the same coverage and benefits extended to their families.Anything less than that means we are getting the short end of the stick and minimal health care at best.
Make sure we are on the same plan as the Waxman.
Hell with the recent spending spree going on in Washington if they would hold the costs to a little over 634 Billion it sounds like the bargain of the century!
Bambi is rushing this stuff through in hopes that it can’t be undone when he gets booted out of office before his term is up!
They can’t even pay for Medicare and they think they can pay for healthcare for 330 million people. Idiots. They’ll push something through in the middle of the night.

Wow, the government is really going to have to make their hot checks stretch to pay for this, on top of everything else. But lately, it always seems to be Christmas in Washington, D.C.
I caught this today on FNC, along with his droll speech. And, what did they forget to mention? That they are not going to pay for pharma co’s to do research to come up with new medicine, so the medicine we get will be for yesterday’s ilnesses. Glen Beck had a great segment on it tonight, in the later 1/2 of the show. He had a guest on that says that the BC/BS and other big insurance co.s are face companies to hide the socialist medicine. It was great...and also very, very scary!
Do we still have time to try to get Repubs to reject this? Zero said by the end of July he wants it passed, so does this give us any time, or has the majority already got it sealed?

I think you’re pretty close here. It’s going to be sickening when those a&&holes in the WH get top notch treatment, and the rest of us dwindle. And by the way, it was stated today on FNC that the null & void sec o state put a cap on vaccines. So she has got her fingers in the pot as well...just in case she tries to come out in 2012 and say she had nothing to do with the insanity behind this deathcare.
