Should the motto "In God We Trust" be removed from U.S. currency?
(Excerpt) Read more at msnbc.msn.com ...
I’m tempted to vote yes as having it on our currency is quite a stretch for our currently elected officials.
Let me guess, to be replaced with “In Obama We Trust”???
88% no...but nice try by NBC to generate a controversy.
That’s encouraging. There 14.5 million votes and it is 88% No and 12% Yes. So, 88% believe the motto should not be removed. Now, do I believe 14.5 million people visited MSNBC.com? Hmmmm...
Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state. 12%
No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion. 88%
88% no, at the moment - but, wait until the Dim-bulbs find it.
Hell. Why not! He’s been removed from just about everything else!
It’ll happen. They rule by polls. They’re too stupid to run things the way they are supposed to be run, Constitutionally that is.
“Yes. It’s a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.”
Demanding that all references to God be striken from public record is enforcign Atheism and Antitheism as the lone sanctioned State religion. Freedom OF religion does not mean freedom FROM religion.
I’ll wonder if all of those Christians who voted for Obama because they fell for the liberals BS are content with their vote still?
i can’t find the poll. Only the results.
We can't trust the currency. Might as well leave something on the money we can trust.
Looks like this poll has been active a LONG time:
But then that’s the activist media for you. When they had a pro-Hillary poll go wrong for them YEARS ago, they outed FR as “FReeping” the poll to get the results. And that only had 114,000 responders.
just sayin' ...
With 88% of 14.5 million in our favor, no need to hurry over and vote before the poll closes... I don't think it's going to change much. But vote if you can.
It’s been active for years.
Homosexual marriage used to be at 88 percent; anti-abortion used to be at 88 percent, etc.
They just want to know the starting point for their “remove God” propaganda campaign which will probably start in public schools.
Most of them still are, as far as I know.
I guess things seem so much better since the Demoncrats took over what with all the job creation and with home values going through the roof like they are. Yeah, that minimum wage increase sure fixed the econmy, didn’t it?
Faith in government is all our currency represents. That should be removed.... by going back to a gold based currency.
Yes. It's a violation of the principle of separation of church and state.
No. The motto has historical and patriotic significance and does nothing to establish a state religion.
I hate stupid polls like this because they add their own editorial positions right to the question. It makes it difficult to actually answer the question.
What if you think it should be removed even though you have no qualms about the separation of church and state. Of what if you want to keep it, but care not a fig about the historical or patriotic significance? What if you favor the establishment of a state religion, and see the motto as a good start?
God is all that is left in which to trust. All others have proveh themselves false.
EVERYONE ELSE PAYS CASH
I fear you’re right.
To be replaced with "In God we Trust - In Our Government We Don't"
OK, someone has to do it:
No, GD it!
Well we have removed prayer (God) from our schools, go do a research on the nose dive of our education system when that occured! Do you want to see the same with our money? Then remove, In God we trust, see what happens next!
