London is suffering a startling rise in diseases associated with Victorian times, official figures reveal today.

Rare infectious illnesses including typhoid, whooping cough and scarlet fever have soared by 166 per cent in the past two years, with the number of cases of mumps - a disease easily prevented with vaccine - rising from 125 in 2007 to 393 last year - an increase of 214 per cent.

I thought people vaccinated their kids against these things? Oh wait.. never mind...
The rise could be a result of parents refusing the MMR jab after now-debunked claims in 2001 that it might be linked to autism.

You got THAT right on both counts. We nearly eradicated these diseases and now because some people and other nations never did, we all get to enjoy them again.

That’s what I thought until I realized it is really Bush’s fault.

With their outstanding healtcare system I thought that nobody in the UK even got sick...let alone died. Our increase in TB and other medieval diseases is due pretty much entirely from denizens of the Fourth World illegally crossing our southern border.

I wonder what could be causing it in the UK?

Anyone have any guesses?

Muslims believe the vaccinations are made with pigs

Nah, see they make the vaccine out of pigs and stick Muslims with it so they can’t get into Paradise.

No shit. Infidels suck like that.

Now you've done it, you've offended a whole raft of Freepers.

Not that they will post to this thread. They'll wait until it's a theoretic subject.

If you're inoculated, you're fine. Your fellows, and their children, are entitled to take it or not. It is of no consequence to you. So why do you prate on so?

The argument that “it endangers us all...” is illogical. So what is it that makes you wish to compel others to get the inoculations?

Preventative medicine? The inoculations are probably cheaper than having to treat the full blown illness.

Rev. 16:2
And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

Hmmm.

I nearly lost my younger daughter to complications of the mmr shot. Cerebral cortex inflammation...and 24 hours of agonizing death-screams. The doc said "don't worry about it". He musta been praying. The has been mildly brain damaged since she was 2.5 yeas old as a result. Kinda like autism-lite. I and my kids and grandkids opt out forevermore, thank you very much.

But I still don't understand the need or desire to compel it for others.

My oldest daughter travels the world ...a merchant officer. Hasn't had an innoculation since she was four. She's jes fine. She knows the risks. Her body, her choice. {no fetus involved.} She is no risk to others protected by inoculation.

Socialized medicine brings the stain of "it's an expense to me." Do you know the value of my daughter...or grand-daughter? I'm betting the sensitivity is genetic. If you find out for sure, it's too late.

It is so sad that kids are getting sick because of the conspiracy theory thinking of their parents.

If the sensitivity is genetic, your doctor can find out for sure.

Children doe because they were not inoculated as well. Is the value on their lives any less?
