PALM BEACH GARDENS — After Heath Miller discovered he was a target of a police investigation, he tried to cover his tracks, records show.

The popular H.L. Watkins Middle School band director asked a mistress and a relative to help him hide or destroy potential evidence of his alleged sexual abuse of students, according to documents released Thursday by the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors revealed that a cellphone memory card that Miller kept at the Palm Beach Gardens school contained photos of Miller having sex with girls.

Miller had asked a teacher at the school, a woman he was having an affair with, to take the memory card from the school's band room so police would not find it

On that one claim alone color me suspicious. She's having sex with him at school, knows she's had, so now she claims it was rape. I don't have sympathy for the bum, but I hope the adult women teachers who were screwing him at school are busted. What a lack of class(no pun intended) for them to do that.

Miller is being held on more than a dozen charges of sexual activity with a minor, tampering with a witness and tampering with evidence.

Police also arrested Miller's cousin Thursday on charges he called a girl who police say Miller raped and told her to wash her clothes. Kevin Whitaker, a 32-year-old, former corrections officer, is charged with tampering with a witness.

I’ve been following this story in one of my Criminal Justice classes, this is going to be a wild story when all is said and done. This guy was running a cult involving sex, drugs, swinging with his wife, friends, relatives, students and other teachers. And, he shot an “intruder” at his home in Feb. who I’m sure is going to turn out to be some pissed off boyfriend or relative who figured out what was going on.

I agree with you. That one accusation does sound totally bogus. Which may explain why he hasn’t been charged with it. That and the fact that they’ve got more than enough to lock him away for decades, assuming they want to.

So far the prosecutor seems to be interested in doing a good job. Ignoring the bogus rape charge, staying focused on the real crimes, and pressing to keep this animal locked up until trial.

I'm a white HS teacher in a predominately black school. I can't speak for the approved minorities they were referencing but anyone who was caught in the act of rape at my school wouldn't make it to prison, no matter their color.

Let’s see what Miller’s sentence will be. A 25 yr old Fresno, CA, guy raped 4 prostitutes and he was found guilty his week. Saying he will get 100 yrs - 25 for each prostitute.
