Biden Reveals Location of Secret VP Bunker
Fox News ^ | May 18, 2009 | Jonathan Passantino

Posted on 05/18/2009 8:54:18 AM PDT by Mozilla

Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president.

According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president.

The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks.

Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine's Washington contributing editor, said Biden revealed the location while filling in for President Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip the gathering.

“I think we all know now why Obama picked him, he’s his insurance policy, even if somebody wanted to go after Obama, they won’t because they know they’d get stuck with Biden as POTUS.”

Using this same line of reasoning, and as incredible as it may seem, even Joe Biden himself has an insurance policy: Nancy Pelosi.

No doubt they will be on Biden’s security detail. Would not want to be those guys. Biden’s so dense if he was under attack he’d be pointing out the locations of his secret service guys to the attackers.

Biden: “Bob, you’re not going to be safe taking cover behind that cabinet.” BLAM BLAM BLAM “Oh crap they just shot Bob!”

Man I think we need to start raying for the guys guarding these folks.

Which is it?? Was it there prior to September 2001 or after December 2002??? Journalists need to take some basic writing classes.

In the modern era, fixed implacemnet of any kind is vulnerable if its location is known. Biden jut cost us taxpayers millions because a new bunker will have to be constructed. The cost of the new bunker should come out of his pay.

That's basically a toss-up. If I had to pick between Biden and Pelosi for POTUS, I'd just flip a coin. Both are dangerously stupid, and to essentially the same degree. Actaully I'd probably lean towards Biden because at least he can be made to look physically presentable. Pelosi's got that self-inflicted botox-monster look that's instinctively scary to any normal person. If we had to have a dangerously stupid POTUS, might as well have one in a normal-looking package.

I came to the same conclusion (that Biden would not be as bad as Pelosi), but for a different reason. Biden is stupid, but I don’t think he’s evil. Biden actually seems like a nice guy. I think he essentially wants what is best for the country even if he’s too stupid to make the correct decisions to that end. Pelosi is stupid, but is also missing whatever kindness that at least Biden seems to have. I have the impression that she could be a very spiteful and vindictive person, Hillary Clinton seems quite pleasant by comparison.

Biden is a continuing embarrassment, the drunk at the bar who never shuts up, but this bunker was about as secret as BO’s teleprompter. The neighbors were all complaining about the noise during the construction and were “quietly” told what it was. That Cheney was in an “undisclosed location” was simply a joke.

filling in for President Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip the gathering.

Too bad that's likely the only similarity. Cleveland, who vetoed lots of "private" spending bills, as well as any bill that required exercise of powers not granted by the Constitution.

He lost his first bid for relection, although he won the popular vote. He ran again in 1892.

Elected again in 1892, Cleveland faced an acute depression. He dealt directly with the Treasury crisis rather than with business failures, farm mortgage foreclosures, and unemployment. He obtained repeal of the mildly inflationary Sherman Silver Purchase Act and, with the aid of Wall Street, maintained the Treasury's gold reserve.

During his first term:

Cleveland vigorously pursued a policy barring special favors to any economic group. Vetoing a bill to appropriate $10,000 to distribute seed grain among drought-stricken farmers in Texas, he wrote: "Federal aid in such cases encourages the expectation of paternal care on the part of the Government and weakens the sturdiness of our national character. . . . "

Cleveland was also a bachelor when elected, but married 21-year-old Frances Folsom in 1886, when he was 48 or 49. They eventually had 5 children.

Must have had "something".

(Quotes from his White House biography.

He is the only president reelected for a second term after first losing a reelection bid, and the only one to be married in the White House. (but not the only one to be married while in office, the first being John Tyler (54) who married Julia Gardiner (24) Clevaland likely fathered a child out of wedlock many years before he entered politics.

Yeah Biden is even worse than Obama and that’s saying a lot. Both make a very awful team. If Obama were impeached, if that ever happened, I’d be equally upset Biden would take over. Hell, all Three Obama, Biden, and Pelosi frighten me. Pure idiots. In these 100 plus days, since this regime took over, all three have shown how dumb they are in more ways than one.

Biden could very well give our secrets out to our enemies. That could be next.
