TWO VIDEOS: http://anchorsnews.com/2009/05/shock-parents-outraged-as-obama-cuts-scholarship-recipients-for-african-americans/

President Obama said that he would allow students currently enrolled in the program to finish up through high school, but that no new students would be allowed to enter the program. Thus, a president who exercises school choice himself, has consigned thousands of low-income students to attend massively underperforming D.C. public schools.

Oh no.

Uhbama and the elites DO NOT WANT THE RIFF RAFF entering elite, rich oriented schools like, say, Sidwell Friends School in DC where uhbama's kids not attend. I mean, they DO NOT WANT THOSE VOUCHER KIDS SHOWING UP AT THEIR DOORSTEP with their lack of knowledge, improper shoes, manners etcs. Oh no. Can't have that.

Besides....if uhbama and his crowd of democrats are unable to keep their plantations slaves and poor white folks genuinely STUPID and dumbed down...how can they keep their future VOTING BLOCK alive and well and DEPENDENT?

How’s that hope and change working out for these people? Sorry no sympathy here as their parents likely voted for Zero.

Instead of 98% of the “Plantation” mindset vote, Obama will now get only 97% of the vote.

Only us-nnnnsss upper, upper class are allowed to pick the school of our choice. You unwashed can go scrabble with the rest of the unwashed. This has always kinda bothered me with the democrat side of politics...when they enter the whitehouse...only a private school is good enough for THEIR children. Proves, to me, they think they are above the rest of us rabbles.

What a shame for these kids.

The best way to lift these kids from their life of poverty and ignorance is to feed their minds the truth, which they will never get from public schools.

Now they have no hope.

Obama is a big fan of "Employee Free Choice" (hooray for union thugs) and "A Woman's Right to Choose" (hooray for killing babies), but not such a big fan of "School Choice Voucher Programs" for disadvantaged students (boo for young people improving their chances of a getting good education).

How do these liberals, uh, sorry, progressives, decide what to support? Is there some sort of list or briefing paper that helps them to remember which rights to choose they favor and which rights to choose they oppose? The right to choose to own a gun? This is BAD. Giving government bureaucrats the right to choose your health care options? This is GOOD. Giving voters the right to choose the meaning of the word 'marriage'? This is BAD. Giving young girls the right to choose not to tell their parents that they're having an abortion? This is GOOD. Etc.

There must be a list...

You really can’t have the unwashed in any school they choose. You can’t have the things that the elites learn being disclosed to them. If you did, they might tell their friends or family what is being taught to the next ruling class, and that just won’t do. No siree, we have to keep those classes seperated.

This is exactly why the system is set up the way it is. Private school is way out of reach for us regular folks due to the fact that our tax dollars have to go into the public education system instead of vouchers. If every parent was given a voucher for a fixed amount of money each year instead of mandatorily putting it into the public schools in our districts, it would cost far less than our current system, the competition would force public schools to improve or die, and children would get a superior education as a result. It seems so simple that I don’t understand why the majority of folks don’t see it.

If a public school is doing outstanding, they would not have a change, they would continue on as always. Schools that are not getting the job done would find a way to do so, or go out of business.

There are 2 explanations to this; one is the unions, the other is national standards (DOE). Education of the youth of a state, belongs at the state level. Govt has gained too much control over an area they have no authority over in the first place.

To protect our children and change the course of the country, we need to regain control over the education of our children and form a network of conservative private schools based on a sliding scale of tuition based on ability to pay, and allow working at the schools in some capacity to offset some of the fees (Pay in time, talent and treasure). This is the only way to reach the next generation, and we will be in a battle for their hearts and minds for sure (think brownshirts).

Let homeschooling parents get their certification to teach and hire them. NO unions, NO tenure, good teachers need neither. We are going to have to do something, for the alternative is leaving the kids in the public schools, and as liberal and irrelevant as they have managed to become over the last 2 terms, just imagine what they will look like 4 years from now..........

He’s “Pro-Choice” when it comes to his kids, but he doesn’t qualify for the vouchers. I’m sure there is a fund where we pay for his kids education anyway.

Another example of the liberal mantra "Free Choice", meaning only Pro-Abortion, not free to choice a school of your choice, not free to vote privately in union matters.

Nope 'Free Choice' to liberals is only about choosing to kill your unborn baby.

Most of these kids are really middle class. They will move out of the district and take their kids with them.
