I don’t know if Sarkozy is Catholic or ever married in a Catholic Church. However, if he was married in ANY Church, the RCC recognizes that marriage as valid and doesn’t recognize the divorce(s).
In the eyes of the RCC, I am not married to my husband who’d earlier been married in an Episcopal Church and was long divorced civilly before we met. They recognize only his first marriage.
Not a lot of wiggle room on these issues.

Isn't that a bit harsh and unrealistic? No. Sometimes the truth can be brutal and according to reports, Bruni is far less than a paragon of virtue.

It seems rather stick-up-the-arse.

Those are the teachings of Christ who I’m sure you consider to be a party pooper.

Those are the teachings of Christ who Im sure you consider to be a party pooper. I never heard of any scripture regarding sympathy for imagined victims of possible dangers.

Do you still hold a grudge for Jane Fonda?

Do you still hold a grudge for Jane Fonda? Did cops chase her, too?
I'm at a loss at the reference.

Ah, but the Sarkozy cheerleaders here claimed Sarko was a breath of fresh air for France and a good role model for American conservatives that defeated a “Hillary type”. Untrue. Sarko is more of the same for France, and if Hillary ran in France, she’s be the “conservative” candidate.
