Revolution (Why this is the only way out to end a dictatorship)
american thinker ^ | Herbert E. Meyer

Posted on 05/20/2009 5:09:32 AM PDT by bestintxas

During the last 30 years we Americans have been so politically divided that some of us have called this left-right, liberal-conservative split a "culture war" or even a "second Civil War." These descriptions are no longer accurate. The precise, technical word for what is happening in the United States today is revolution.

Because of our country's history, we tend to think of revolutions as military conflicts, and of the revolutionaries as the good guys; the image of Minutemen fighting valiantly against the British forces at Lexington and Concord lies deep within our DNA. But sometimes -- quite often, actually -- revolutions aren't military conflicts, and the good guys are the ones trying to keep the revolution from happening. In January 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed chancellor of Germany by its elected president; he would spend the next two years consolidating his power with the legislative connivance of his political allies in the Reichstag. In October 1917, Lenin and his Bolsheviks took control of Russia from Kerensky and his Social Democrats -- who had overthrown the Czar earlier that year -- entirely through parliamentary maneuvering in Russia's fledgling Duma.

What defines a revolution -- and this is the crucial point to grasp -- is that when it's over a country has changed not merely its leaders and its laws, but its operating system.

We’re all becoming slaves to the state...and it’s not really by force. Americans seem to pretty much want this.

And that’s the scariest part of all.

People are ready, they are not stockpiling guns and ammo just because Walmart is raising the prices, they are stockpiling ammo because they are prepared to use it to regain the Republic.

The politically incorrect problem has a politically incorrect solution.

What defines a revolution -- and this is the crucial point to grasp -- is that when it's over a country has changed not merely its leaders and its laws, but its operating system.

By a "change of operating system", the only thing that this revolution should bring about is the Constitution as written plus the first 10 amendments. Equality of citizenship for sex and race should be assumed.

The only addition that I would add would be some supremacy clauses for states' powers and a clause in Article III that says that in no way is the Supreme Court entitled to be the final arbiter of the Constitution - that power lies in the states' legislatures.

Revolution - the overturning of what was and the establishment of a new system.

This is already what 0bama is doing so ever slightly...he is turning the Republic into a Socialist state...

He needs to go and not return in 2012 - he had his chance of change and hope - which means, “I’m going to CHANGE everything in the US and HOPE that it works...”

I have gotten to the point where I don’t think I can live with Democrats anymore. Their entire way of thinking is so drastically opposite of anything I believe in. I don’t see any common ground whatsoever. And to top it off, their attitudes are so vile and hateful that I don’t need that in my life.

We are at a crossroads, what is going on is not just a political ideology shift that occurs within our government, this is an assault on our culture as a whole. It is being orchestrated by a bunch of bitter people who never embraced the greatness of America. People who are too weak to make the most of their freedoms.

I’d counter that notion. It’s not what people want, its what they don’t see because of the beads and trinkets.

I hate to be cliche’, but the native american peoples on this continent didn’t want the effects brought by settlers, they just failed to understand it’s impact on their way of life. They just realized their precarious position all too late.

We, will not. But many will, and I pray we’ll not be too late to help them, because they’ll come for us next. (They already have, but it’ll turn violent against patriots, rather than subversive).

The people on this site are here because they are more astute to what is going on around them. You seek information, you are knowledgeable about how this country works, etc. Millions and millions in this country don’t care unless it directly affects them. Until that point they are happy getting their blurbs of news from the MSM, People Magazine and whatever other rag is out there. They do however get in a flop sweat over who is getting tossed on American Idol.

I concur, but have not become so cynical as some people as to believe there’s no hope that people will overturn their world views when threatened with life and limb.

I hate to be presumptious, but sadly our Jewish countrymen may remember all too well that complacency didn’t equate to wanting to be hurt, and worse. Merely when they saw the signs, they failed to act soon enough. I can’t remember which Jewish author wrote it, but lamented that it the start, their numbers were sufficient to end the holocaust that was brewing.

I just am sad when people are so ready to allow lives to be tossed out the window. Yes, people are lazy. Yes, they’re being fattened up for the slaughter. But yes, I have hope that just like the proverbial starfish, if we can help just one, it will matter to him/her. That’s all I’m saying.

The revolution started 40 years ago and the hippies took over in the 90’s. Their political agenda has not changed, the only difference is that now they have complete political power. The revolution is over my friends, the America you knew and loved is GONE. The way to take it back is to be counter-revolutionaries. Hippie America must be taken down as they took down our America. Don’t hire or promote libs. Defund any anti-american institutions like newspapers, media, TV, etc. Force the libs to abide by their own rules until the system cannot support itself. Take EVERYTHING you disagree with to COURT. Scream about RAT corruption big and small until you get a response. Drive them out of office by any means necessary.

I see the 10th amendment movement as the only way to successfully restore the republic to what it was intended to be.

Even this path may well lead to violence. Eventually, there will be a clash where an agent of the federal gov’t will attempt to enforce a law within the bounds of a state that has vowed not to have that law enforced.

Push your state legislators to support 10th amendment sovereignty legislation. If you’re in a hopeless state, lobby anyone you know that is in another state to do so.

And, it seems, even when it does get to the point that it affects them, and their eyes are opened, it is only temporary, open the shutters long enough to get themselves back where they want to be, and the thinking goes right back to where they were, everyone else be damned.

“We’re all becoming slaves to the state...and it’s not really by force. Americans seem to pretty much want this.”

Those Americans who “want this” believe it will make their life better. They were told their lives and gov’t were awful before and now they will see change such as tax cuts for them and lots of smart things like saving the planet from burning up. They don’t think anything bad will happen to them, only to rich people whom they hear about and who have vast sums of money. In reality, it will take time but an intelligent individual knows that massive shifts of power to a centralized government doesn’t leave a place to run if that gov’t abuses you. The bills eventually have to be paid in a global economy and massive tax increases find their way into everyone’s earnings. From 1933 until 1943, life was pretty much a thrill ride of success for Germans. They were literally conquering the world and had the upper hand throughout Europe. To be a German was to be above all others. But, in 1943, the jig was up and the payback was devastating.

How far will this new US regime go? Suppression of dissent? Without a doubt. Perversion and immorality? Seems to appeal to them and traditional morality has long been the joke to pop culturalists. Unconstrained extravagance? The spending on this regime’s opening day was breathtakingly grand and stacked on an already big debt. Squelching of freedoms? With impunity. It is always a small enough group of people who get squelched such that their opposition is negligible. Will they become violent? ALl socialist and centralizing governments use force to put their people to heel. However, the bulk of the American people are happily aquiescing to this centralization of power. The left has not been ideologically supportive of violence to achieve their aims so this current group may not take that path. The same process evolved in Germany in the 30s—few spoke up in opposition. By 1939, there was such a centralization of power that no opposition could have raised a finger in protest. so, Germany went into the inferno with no hope of internal correction.

With the most sophisticated propaganda force in history and the financial backing of many wealthy elites and the US taxpayers, the road is wide open for whatever power the new socialists wants to take. I predict that the creeping socialism that has threatened the US for decades will be fully cemented in place by 2011.

When such comes to pass, will be the time for citizens to assert their rights and resist the Federal interference, by any and all means. Once this is done, even on a smaller level, the Feds will come to understand that they either leave the States alone or be ready for a much bigger battle. At that point I think the democrat controlled Fed, as it is now configured, will find that the Military will not enforce their unconstitutional rule against the States or citizenry and that will be the end of their unreasonable rein.

“Take EVERYTHING you disagree with to COURT.”

They seem to have now figured out that instead of needing courts they can get a POTUS elected that can create his own rules and laws, regardless of whether they are Unconstitutional.

The normal checks and balances to dictatorship by American’s elected representatives in Congress are ineffective as they are complicit in this disregard of the Constitution.

Zero must be stopped by impeachment and thrown out of office due to his failure to uphold our Constitution.

This legislative person http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/01k25rM8rleAp/340x.jpg

decided that a declaration of sovereignty sounded like secession to her, so she decided that this was the War Between the States all over again and it was a racist move being undertaked in this state.

No way that this will not be voted on upcoming session and pass easily. The legislator is a minority in this state in more ways than one, and Texans in general do not condone being called racists.

We don’t have to change our system we just have to return to our founding documents, as predicted by Jefferson. Amendments to the Constitution should be given a second look (16th must go!) and all Supreme Court decisions pertaining to the Constitution should be rendered null and void and Marbury vs. Madison revisited. The real revolution must begin, even if localized. If it ends like Budapest or Prague (or the Alamo), so be it. It must grow or the American way will be no more. The Kenyan puppet with the scary wife have driven us far beyond passing out pamphlets on street corners.

In hindsight, I think we should add a couple of things to the original documents, just to make things absolutely clear.

The 2nd needs to be unequivocal - the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Period.

Article III needs to be clarified.
In no way should the Judicial Branch or the USSC consider itself to be the final arbiter of the Constitution. That power belongs to the states’ legislatures.

Mr Meyer makes some interesting points, but I was distracted by his continual mention of “our democracy.” We don’t have one, it’s a republic. And the socialists aren’t trying to destroy the “democracy.” They want nothing more than to watch as our Republic goes democratic, and then marches to tyranny as all democracies do.

He is right about our retaking our Republic by peaceful, grass-roots political means. We have the Internet, so we can do background checks and keep the RINOs out of our local governments even if we don’t personally know the candidates.

We really can gang up on the liars and thieves who are stealing our Republic.

The rift between the two US's is deep and getting deeper. Many do not realize just how defined each side is. For lack of better terms I have started calling the two sides "citified" and "country". It is not that clear but I believe it expresses what is going on - IMHO it is not longer "left' and "right". The citified ones think they know what is best for everyone and the country side just pretty much wants to be left alone. Citified has won the last 20 years because they are active and need to feel part of the herd. Country is reaching the point where they will fight back because they are being pushed to their limit.

I hear folks say things like your post daily now. I almost NEVER heard it put that strongly before 2007. The only question now is how it gets settled and 0 may not leave country a choice on how that happens.

The US military will mostly not be involved when the time comes. Almost all operational military ground units are going to be overseas when 0 pulls the pin. The Navy will be largely at sea and the AF will be downsized and placed in Europe and Asia. More activations have gone out to Guard units this month and they will be federalized and sent overseas for the war with Pakistan and Iran. The 0 “service corps” will be handling security and guess what they will be led by foreign nationals who hold no compunction about shoot US citizens.
