So you may have heard that ABC is doing a remake of the 80s television miniseries, "V".
Trailer is at the link above.
What's interesting is the angle: Devotion is the weapon, a carefully crafted message from the Visitors of Change and Hope. And a good-looking, charismatic spokeperson, with demands for a perfectly controlled image.
I wonder if ABC realizes JUST how subversive it is, especially as the bloom comes off the Administration. It's even identified by a single letter.
And, of course, the bringers of Change and Hope are hiding their true face, and have sinister ambitions.
Sound familiar ???? (evil grin)

LOL! Roddy Piper spent almost that whole movie just AGAPE!
“Can they repackage it as O?”
Maybe “OY!” is more appropriate.
That is insulting to Spock, really. Barry doesn’t do ANYTHING logical!
They must be blind if they can not see the similarities.
During the original series I could never get past the part where they swallowed rats whole.
Mmmm...Jane Badler...I'll be in my bunk.
I always thought that Tom Daschle was just one of the lizard aliens with a plastic skin. As I recall from the original series a weak American President allowed the “Vistors” to easily take over.
Yes! ‘They Live’ is a classic.
Totally unfair to Vulcans. They embrace logic, and deny emotion.
But an “evil vulcan” might use the emotions of others to manipulate them to achieve a goal that he deems logical,
like “superior elite people such as myself need total power to implement our vision for society” might be a logical conclusion, devoid of emotion.
I think O is a loony sociopath. But that is just my opinion.
He is doing best to destroy the country. Starting with the
economy, and moving on from there.
Of course, to want to be president, you have to have the belief
that you know what is best.
Voting public’s fault for falling for emotion, instead of
logic.
The mesage will be that us violent, unthinking brutes on Earth really DO have something to learn from the aliens, and that we really CAN have change if we just have hope.
I predict very little flesh-eating violence on the part of the Obama admini... I mean, the aliens.
Only if they kept in Teh Best Fight Scene. Evah!
I always thought “V” was forgotten because it
tore the mask off of liberalism. This re”V”i”V”al
makes me “V”ery happy.
Life imitating art, imitating life.
Apparently benign alien emissaries show mankind how to end the misery of war, plague and famine. The Kanamits, nine-foot tall aliens, arrive on Earth with one lofty goal: To Serve Man. They end war, they end famine. They make the military wonder: what's the catch?
CAST: Richard Kiel, Hardie Albright, Robert Tafur, Lloyd Bochner, Lomax Study, Theodore Marcuse, Susan Cummings, Nelson Olmstead.

Must take your word for [that], Mrs. N.
Never saw so much as a second of the program.
Nevertheless your judgment's as good as any I've [ever] read on the forum.
It's so if you say it's so, as far as I'm concerned. :^)
‘Mornin’ Landru!
Here’s something from the 80s to reboot:
