Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Friday that President Obama has not been vetted thanks to a complicit media that wanted to see a black man become president.
Serving as a guest host for conservative radio personality Bill Bennett, Steele, who is also African-American, said Obama's political philosophy and principles remain largely unknown.
"He was not vetted, folks," Steele said. "He was not vetted because the press fell in love with the black man running for the office.
" 'Oh, gee, wouldn't it be neat to do that? Gee, wouldn't it make all of our liberal guilt just go away? We can continue to ride around in our limousines and feel so lucky to live in an America with a black president,' " Steele said, mocking what he sees as a biased media.
"OK, that's wonderful, great scenario, nice backdrop," the chairman continued. "But what does he stand for? What does he believe?"
Steele went on to suggest the media should have examined the influence the Rev. Jeremiah Wright had on Obama.
Steele has been on the receiving end of similar suggestions — that he has advanced up the political ladder because of race. Having started off as chairman of the Prince George's County Republican Party and the Maryland Republican Party, then serving as lieutenant governor of Maryland, Steele became a frequent guest on cable news channels and a repeat speaker at Republican National Conventions in 2004 and 2008.

Before entering the race, Obama said, he spoke to about 30 elected officials in the district, which includes the integrated, middle class neighborhood around the University of Chicago as well as some of the city’s poorest precincts.
“Not one asked me where I stood on an issue,” he says, smiling.
“What they cared about was, `Who sent you? How much money you got?’
His answers were apparently good enough; the party backed his nomination. And given the district, Obama ‘s March primary win makes Nov. 5 simply a formality.
But despite the ease of his ascension, the nature of campaigning worries him. Sound bites sow distrust, he says: “They’re dishonest about how complex some of the issues are. They’re dishonest about the very real conflicts between groups that are going to have to be resolved through compromise.”
And then there’s money. Chicagoans, he says, have grown especially jaded watching the Democrats raise cash for this month’s national convention in Chicago.
“The convention’s for sale, right,” Obama says.
“You got these $10,000-a-plate dinners and Golden Circles Clubs. I think when the average voter looks at that, they rightly feel they’re locked out of the process. They can’t attend a $10,000 breakfast and they know that those who can are going to get the kind of access they can’t imagine.”
He is wrong. That the press failed to “vet” Obozo is correct, but the reason is wrong.
They did not fail to “vet” him because he is Black, the last time I looked Alan Keyes is also Black (blacker).
They failed to examine him because the “fix was in”. And the fixers are foreign and domestic enemies of the nation.
The MSN is a party to this fraud and should be punished for the peril they have put the country in.
The exposure is approaching, and inevitable.
The MSM barely reported it when Alan Keyes ran for president, even when Dr. Keyes was locked out of televised debates, handcuffed, and driven around in a police car for a couple hours...

First, that was then, why is the press not "vetting" him now? Certainly not because they are in love with a black man being president. Second, I wish Steel would have also said that he's actually 1/2 Arabic and 1/2 White (as stated above in this thread), which means the press was wrong then ... and still is. He marketed himself as black and the blacks fell for it.

He sat in for Bill Bennett this week. A caller asked why he doesn’t take his fight on to the typical leftist talk shows, why he doesn’t just prep himself and go on the shows and lay down the law, why doesn’t he call them and offer to go on their shows.
His response?
He says that he gets offers all the time, that they are begging him to come on, and that he will eventually, and, when he does, he’ll give it as good as he gets.

You are the head of the RNC,
