I think most of them really believe the trash they publish and broadcast. Since they think alike, some of the difficulty can be attributed to isolating themselves from the rest of the world. There seems to be little interest in investigative reporting any more so perhaps some of it can be assigned to sloth. They are also primarily confined to urban areas so they naturally have slanted views of the rest of the world outside those areas. I hope that they are not financially rewarded for intentional misrepresentation but that may also be a possibility. The most aggravating part of it for me is the "I know better than you do" mentality.

I first met Dick Cheney when he was Chief Of Staff to President Ford. Who he was then is who he is now. It is those without sound thought processes and strong values who roll with the times and live for good feelings. When the sun goes down it is still dark. Nothing changes that.

Where to begin? Here’s one, closing Gitmo and bringing the terrorists to the US. The author states that we have Federal Prisons that can securly hold these prisoners. That’s true, as far as physically holding them. But as soon as we bring them onto US soil lawyers will pounce all over them, bringing suits in courts, to have the prisoners tried or freed. For some, we may not have the constitutionally legal requirements to try and convict them. That’s why we held them in Gitmo to begin with, they did not have access to the US courts.

Bingo. Obama’s argument that our prisons are strong enough to hold the men is pure sophistry when it’s our laws, Constitution and will to incarcerate them that are weak and will be exploited. They need to be held as prisoners of war for the entire duration of the conflict. They are not criminals subject to our civil liberties and evidentiary requirements. That the POTUS would not make this plainly known to the citizens of the US is an insult to all Americans.
