WATERLOO The town of Waterloos court clerk was arrested last week for allegedly tipping off a friend who was wanted by police.
Robin Labour, 49, 68 N. Virginia St., was charged May 15 by state police with second-degree obstructing governmental administration.
Labour is accused of advising a friend whose name wasnt released about a warrant issued on a probation violation, so that person could avoid being arrested. State police couldnt find the friend for a few days before finally taking that person into custody, they said.
Town Justice Richard Marsh said this morning that Labour is still employed by the village, stating that shes innocent until proven guilty.
Marsh said he learned of the charges through state police.
The communications office for the states Unified Court Systems Advisory Committee on Judicial Ethics couldnt be reached for comment this morning to see if Labour faces disciplinary action.
