At Issue: The selection of a new board member, and the meeting turns ugly HUNTINGTON W.Va.-- The selection of a new Cabell County school board member turned into an argument Wednesday Night.
For several weeks, school board members have tried to select a member to replace another one who resigned. But members can't come to an agreement. And the discussion turned into a shouting match.
The board meeting turned to an argument when members could not decide on a new board member.
They had the candidates narrowed down to three, but when they couldn't decide, shouting erupted from the board and the audience.
At one point, the board members sat in silence for more than 20 minutes.
The Cabell County school board adjourned without naming a new member.
And these people vote for public officials? How do they do it?
You got me on that one. I am surprised they know how to get out of bed in the morning.
Which of the candidates is related to the which of members of the BOE? That narrows it down to family infighting.

I had planned on ignoring this one. Disgusting, but not surprising.
Sounds like racism, or is it sexism, or maybe both?
It’s got to be...even if they are not reporting it.
Hello Margana,
The story tells of the boe meeting becoming a shouting match, why?
Is it a racial thing? A positions thing? Or maybe a party thing?
I was born in Huntington and am trying to understand the cause.
Where are you in W.Va?
WVNan,
If I may,
The photo in your about page, where in W.Va. is it?
Absolutely beautiful.
I am originally from Huntington and go back to W.Va. every chance I get. Probably will move back when my wifes folks pass.
Last year we drove up for bridge day, had a blast.
Also I tell everyone in the state about this,
In Summersville is a place called Dominics Italian Chop House.
One of the finest restaurants I’ve ever visited. I’ll drive 400 miles for their Lasagna or standing pork chop.
Lastly, can you give any info on what caused the shouting match?
I have no idea, really I don’t. It would not surprise me if it was.
I live in Cabell county, and I wish I did not. I have no idea what started this. I only know what you all know on the news report, which could be called “In house fighting in the BOE”. The last person to hold the job resigned, have no idea why. I knew him, and I even voted for him, he was cool. I have to wonder if he up and resigned there are troubles worse that I thought. There have been troubles in the past with the BOE but NEVER like this. I will be watching closely and keep you all informed, after all most are Obama voters.
Morgana,
Years ago I lived in Tampa.
Mayor there, Dick Grecko go elected for a second non consecutive term then said well thanks but I got a better offer and left to go to work for Debartolo, the guy that owns all the malls.
Hope your guy just got a better offer. Not a criminal investigation or worse.
My dad still lives in South Point. So I keep an interest.
