Its going to be Burris, they know he would get throttled in the general election in 2010. They want to open up the seat for JJJ..

I’ve attended both public and private Christian schools and am the son of a Baptist minister. While I agree that it is the parent’s job is to provide their children with a solid moral compass I’ve seen many sheltered children who are simply unequipped to deal with the realities that exist in the real world upon leaving the nest. While I appreciate the solid grounding that home schooling provides, I fear it may not provide a realistic life-experience for children to build upon when they leave the home.

My wife and I plan on sending our child to a very rural public school which we believe is a happy medium.

Yep Burriss is damaged goods...not that they care what he did, but the Dims want him out so there is no danger of a GOP upset for that Senate seat.

I tuned in to hissy Chrissy last night and he attacked him like he was a towel trying to clean up his soiled Obama leg.

THAT would be racist, trying to hold the brother down, a political lynching.

It’s time to riot, we need new TV’s anyway. Break glass, shut down the White man’s businesses, burn the Pig’s cars, let them all know that the Revolution has begun and we’re not going to take it anymore.... We have Obama, they are the slaves now.

Wait, I’m White, never mind. ;>)

"Sheltered" children and "home schooled" children are not necessarily congruent groups.

There are many "sheltered" children in public schools and private schools as well as, no doubt, home schools. These are the kids who never had to experience the consequences of their own actions and for whom their parents made excuse after excuse.

Such children will certainly not be able to confront reality.

On the other hand, most home-schooled children are, by definition, blessed with parents who have high expectations for their children and necessarily teach them accountability and responsibility. Such kids are very well-prepared to cope with reality.

good for you. I think small schools are probably the future of education. I would rather have 8 families pay a a couple of great motivated teachers and focus on the child's strengths of science, music, golf, soccer for the rest of the day as most Olympians do, rather than sit in a public robot school that focuses on their political agenda and not the students welfare.

We did 1/2 day schedules with focus on science one day at the river or trip to the valley for bird watching. Another week was government. We went to the State house and sat in on a legislative meeting. The kids learned a lot and then did a power point presentation to the parents after. Tell me they did not learn. They were 3rd graders and loved school.

I concur 100% that hands on experiences like that teach so much more than just sitting in a classroom!

Public schools should spend more of field trips and less on sports...
