I’m glad they caught the drunk, and kudos to the men who rescued the girls.
Now, before anyone says anything about the driver being 12, I started driving when I was 12. ;o)
So did I! I grew up in the country (northern Wisconsin) and just about all the youngsters learned to drive early. We had a wheel tractor, a D2 cat, a "doodlebug" (cut down truck with two transmissions and no suspension), and a 1952 Ford 1 ton stake bed. I started with the Dbug pulling a tree planting rig (I figure that we planted well over 100,000 white pines so I've got a few carbon credits coming...). My favorite was the D2 'cuz you could make your own road.
I went for my drivers license the day I turned 16 and got it on the first try. My older brother had to re-test 'cuz he drove thru a stop sign on the road test! We never let him forget either.
