It won’t make any difference. Los Angeles has a 70% High School dropout rate anyway. At least the tax payer isn’t paying for it.
Oh I see...forgo laying off administrators in the top heavy districts and instead cut summer school as it will make a bigger impact with the public and give more union members the summer off.
So, the article says there won’t be summer school but it doesn’t say how the younger kids are supposed to make up their classes. If they just fail and have to repeat the year then there’s no $$$$ saved. Paying teachers for a few weeks of summer school is a lot less strain on the school budget than having the kids repeat the entire year. Not to mention summer school might just keep a few off the streets like that little wannabe punk in your pic.
