Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly responded on The Factor tonight to criticisms of his attacks last night on Free Republic and Hot Air by the sites' respective founders, Jim Robinson and Michelle Malkin. The segment last night was on reaction by right and left wing websites on the Judge Sotomayor nomination to the Supreme Court. Free Republic was singled out for an obnoxious comment about Sotomayor being diabetic. Hot Air was singled out for an impolitic strongly worded appeal to block her nomination.
O'Reilly noted Malkin's reaction made on Fox and Friends this morning and Robinson's comments which were posted on Free Republic and e-mailed to The Factor.
O'Reilly agreed that both had points but that the sites should better monitor their comments as he does at his site and that O'Reilly would hold both right and left wing sites accountable.
Hot Air complained that the comment singled out by O'Reilly was labeled a 'blog' entry rather than a comment, thereby leaving the impression it was made by one of the site's official posters.
Jim Robinson's response was boiled down to Jim calling O'Reilly "an elitist gasbag" and noting that offending comments sometimes get past the moderators. O'Reilly did not inform his viewers that Mr. Robinson is a diabetic who has lost family to the disease.
The segment aired about forty minutes into the program tonight.

Why should anyone care about certain people occaisionally making off color comments on a site like this? It’s a public forum. there’s gonna be a few things said that maybe shouldn’t be said.

If you are going to talk about Mr. Jim Robinson, maybe you should ping him to your post so he has an opportunity to respond to your insult.

My take is this is making a mountain out of a molehill.
Obama and the democrats are in the process of bankrupting the USA. That is the real issue.
That is exactly what I wish they would do. O’Reilly is so egotistical that he is never happier (with a tingle down his leg, no doubt) than when he asks a guest what they thought of his latest “hard-hitting interview” - lol. “But enough about me, what do YOU think about me?”

O’Reilly is one guy who does a decent enough job and more often than not is on the side of common sense (aka the conservative side).

And the morning show has gotten to be all fluff and no substance unless they have Glenn Beck on.
How many times will Fox&Friends have the story about the test the Dallas Cheerleaders are now taking. Obviously, they are running this story so they can keep putting the video of the cheerleaders on. If I wanted fluff, I'd turn the channel to something besides the “news” in the morning.

Far more fair than the intense scrutiny of W’s possible-alcoholism cum “questionable recovery” for 8 years. That was the topic of one thread that I began.
You’re really not saying anything, as this site is open to the universe and gets all kinds. VERY few over-the-line comments, really.

Sometimes when I eat too low on the glycemic scale for the day, and maybe overdo my meds I get this blood sugar drop down to 60 mg/dl and my comments may well seem out of tune with the "goodytwoshoes" standards of the Bushbots ~ but that's just too bad. My targets deserve my sour disposition and I may let it fly.
