ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is calling for President Obama to take a firm stance against North Korea and defend the states and territories of the United States and allies on the Korean peninsula.

North Korea fired a short-range missile on Friday - the sixth this week. Military experts believe a long-range missile could reach Alaska, where part of the nation's missile defense system is located.

A stateswoman speaks, too bad she isn’t Vice President.
She is going to go the distance next time.

Go Sarah.

So what exactly is a “firm stand”? Is that different from the usual “dim view” they take? The truth is we aren’t going to do anything about NK. What could we do? Invade? Bomb the heck out of them? Even if some think that’s a swell idea, it’s not going to happen. This is all bluster. The only country that can influence NK right now is China. The ball is in their court.

I’m fed up with all these politicians. Anyone who thinks they are going to do what they say is delusional.

Hey, how about not cutting funding for Missile Defense? If we can’t hit North Korea, we should at least be able to defend our selves, right? That’s where the difference lies between Palin and 0bama.

Then she should have spoken up for missile defense instead of making a silly statement about taking a “firm stand”. That is completely meaningless.

She's right, but she's going to be ignored and marginalized...until North Korea joins forces with Iran and wipes out L.A., S.F. or N.Y. or maybe all three at once.

By then it'll be too late to say, "I warned you, but you wouldn't listen."

I like to see somebody with the name “tet68” support Sarah. I assume you are a war vet. That tells me this is not just a generational thing. Not just young guys like me want Sarah to be our next President.

Who really cares if SP’s call for a firm stand means anything. The important thing is to attempt to put 0bama on the defensive. SP realizes she has to steadily chip away at this buffoon’s clay feet from now until Nov. ‘12.

LOL! Maybe you should do a little research before posting a ridiculous comment.

So what exactly is a “firm stand”?

A firm stand is like what Bush 41 told Saddam Hussein, "This will not stand". Then kicking ass, as needed.

What is wrong with advocating a ‘firm stand’. Is drawing a line in the sand passe? Should the USA just stand by and be an onlooker to a N. Korean missile destroying the city of Anchorage.

What is the oppposite of firm stand? Apologizing to N. Korea for fighting against it during the Korean War.
