Frank Rich: Who Is to Blame for the Next Attack?
NY Times ^ | May 30, 2009 | Frank Rich

Posted on 05/31/2009 6:41:53 AM PDT by Oldeconomybuyer

The Beltway antics that greeted the great Cheney-Obama torture debate were an unsettling return to the post-9/11 dynamic that landed America in Iraq. Once again Cheney and his cohort were using lies and fear to try to gain political advantage — this time to rewrite history and escape accountability for the failed Bush presidency rather than to drum up a new war.

The harrowing truth remains unchanged from what it was before Cheney emerged from his bunker to set Washington atwitter. The Bush administration did not make us safer either before or after 9/11. Obama is not making us less safe. If there’s another terrorist attack, it will be because the mess the Bush administration ignored in Pakistan and Afghanistan spun beyond anyone’s control well before Americans could throw the bums out.

“The Bush administration did not make us safer either before or after 9/11”

Spoken as if we just have to believe it because he said it.

There was not enough time once Bush took office to "make us safe again" given 8 years of the traitor Clinton and the Algore administration delay. The plot was already deep and planned. The Gorelick wall was in place.

Bush did make us safer after 9-11. Does anyone believe the Islamofacists would not have attacked again and again if they could have?

Obama IS setting us up for another attack from the two faced "make peace in public but stab us in the back" Islamic radicals. Make no mistake, these people will use Obama's pacifism to buy time to prepare for another big attack that could have be avoided if we have the will to do so.

As one of your guy’s supporters once told your predecessor and his people...you broke it, you own it.

If this was not so important it would be laughable. The fact that earlier in the week, B. Hussein, basically told floridians and future hurricane victims they were on their own and now Frank Rich lays the blame of future terrorist attacks on Dubyas shoulders, the only conclusion you can draw is that the current administration is not only clueless but so cowardly they can not take responsibility for their watch.

All they can do is spend money faster than they can print it, party and in the end, hide behind Dubyas skirt.

Already prepping their damage control. Sounds like they’re expecting something to happen soon. Kinda scary.

Well, the fact that the question was not raised from 2001 to 2008 indicates that the change in occupancy has raised enough concern that it is now inevitable.

Any intelligent person would conclude that since the question has been raised in the last few months that the issue lays squarely on the shoulder of the new party in control, and their office holders.

So, to answer the question:

It is Obammie the Commie's fault if it happens. If it was the Bush policy that caused so much hatred that they are willing to attack us, it was also the Bush policy that prevented those attacks. If Obammie the Commie's new Hate-America First policy is correct, they should now love us and not want to attack us. If they attack us, it proves: 1. The Hate-America First policy is a failure. 2. Obammie the Commie's national defense strategy is a failure.

It's Bush's fault.

[Frank Rich/BARF ALERT] If there’s another terrorist attack, it will be because the mess the Bush administration ignored in Pakistan and Afghanistan spun beyond anyone’s control well before Americans could throw the bums out.

That's pwecious. Fwank doesn't know where or when, but when it happens, he knows it will have been Bush's fault!

Thanks, chump, for emblematizing your mindless hatred and cluelessness for all time for us. People reading your drivel 200 years from now (hardly likely outside the groves of academe) will know by that one belch that you were a towering loser, but a moral midget.

It is outrageous that Frank Rich of the NYT is still out there spewing liberal venum!

At least you have the satisfaction of knowing that at least he isn't out there spewing liberal spermatozoa anyplace where there'd be a danger that it might begin to reproduce another Fwank Wich.

Mark Steyn has said it so well I reproduce it here for your reading pleasure...

I was in one of those hotels where they give you The New York Times whether you want it or not. And, even if you leave it in the corridor, the maid brings it into the room and places it invitingly on the table. And, even though you ignore it, you call down for a pot of tea and the room service guy moves it to put the tray down and then drapes the paper slightly over the edge between the cup and the single flower in the mini-vase as though posed for a “Still Life of Afternoon Tea with New York Times” that fetches $1.6 million at Sotheby’s. And at that point, fearing the next stage would be when I slid into bed to be awakened 20 minutes later by the hooker from the lobby curled up on the adjoining pillow and reading Frank Rich into my ear, I gave in and opened up the paper.... - Mark Steyn

Does your logon name read as an abbreviated "Safer Guns?" What the hell does that mean? That's like "Duller Knives" or "More Useless Tit."

It's a dig against the notion of "safe sex" by handing out condoms in schools. Joycelyn Elders in a speech once called for "safer guns" and "safer bullets"... So coming from the condom queen herself, I borrowed from her (And Rush) by placing a condom over the barrel of a gun, thus making it "safer". That help?

"They also frequently scream ‘’Hey! look at me! See how ‘intellectual’ I am! I need attention!’’ You try to have a bold ‘’in your face’’ style, which is then diminished by your plead for Safrgun’s validation and ridiculously cutesy emoticon."

Hmmmm. I see. Kind of like what you do here, eh? A quick point for your consideration:
I didn't attack SafrGuns personally, I attacked the concept of "Safer Guns," which deserves attacking. SafrGuns, showing much more sense than you, replied by explaining that his logon was a parody of the idiotic concept of "Safer Guns."

In other words, he and I actually agree on that point. You, on the other hand, have shown that you (...just like the liberal a%%holes you pretend to dislike so much) are more than willing to personally attack and denegrate someone with whom you disagree merely because they disagree.

In an open forum of ideas, such sphincters eventually make no meaningful contribution at all. But, I'm sure you'll keep typing your inane drivel anyway. Good luck with that. You're really good at it...

I love it. You have my profuse and sincere apology for taking your logon literally.

Keep up the good fight, the battle heats up even as we write of such things. I'm a magnum revolver kind-of-guy... no chambering a round, no safety to switch on or off, just "point-and-click"-- reach out and touch someone! :-)

Thanks Gargantua,

The intent is to illustrate absurdity by being absurd. (all credit to Rush)
So there really is no need to apologize.

I especially like William Shatner's version of "Gun Control".

Most of the fights we engage in have no business getting started in the first place. So which is more important to us? getting to the truth? or winning the argument?

Rich has been wrong for a generation on his political points. He is even a worse cultural and movie critic. Only the Beltway rubes love this guy and the filth and prevarications he portrays. The Left will never blame Obama if Ca. or NY disappear from a N.Korean, Iranian or other Islamofascist bombing-missile run. It will always be blame Reagan-Bush. The Left is now so evil and distorted that Levin lied today about Cheney’s views on the CIA-Intel_Interrogation memos. And the media asks the GOP, critics of Obama, and conservatives not to be emotional in their opposition to the Messiah! But, of course, they can.

And by the way, it's a well-known fact that most of the people (including "broadcast producers" of landmark cable TV shows like "Li'l Buford's Fishin' Hole" {LMFAO}) who use the word "effete" are homosexual.

Just kidding. All in good fun, eh?

That was damn good! Had to share it with the wife who also laughed and had to ask me ‘’Well what the hell kind of word is ‘effete’ anyway??’’. (Slowly backing out of the thread...hands up...) lol!
