GM to move car manufacturing to China
Fox News Channel | 5/31/09

Congressman McCotter was interviewed this morning on FOX regarding the GM pre-programmed bankruptcy. I was interested that learn that GM car manufacturing will be moved to China, where impressive vehicles like Le Car! will be made and then shipped-back to the US for purchase by reluctant consumers. McCotter noted that not only is this bankruptcy a gift to the UAW, but also a victory for the EnviroNazis who will at last force Americans to buy the small, dangerous, lawnmowers-with-4- seats they have demanded for years.

This is outrageous that they are going to move manufacturing to China. What then, was the purpose of the bailout? I mistakenly thought that they wanted to try to save these companies and the American-based jobs that were attached to these companies. What’s the point of subsidizing the companies for them to do more manufacturing overseas? I thought Obama was against companies moving overseas? What the heck????????

I guess I don’t understand the nuances of the Obama policies.

I hope they do! Then they’ll see what happens when they come up against a government that actually has a backbone.

Seems fair. China owns us anyway, might as well move our auto manufacturing over there too.

No, the Chicoms would axe-murder them. No room for competing marxist organizations.

That's probably why GM would go there.

If they move manufacturing of GM (bailed out with my tax dollars) to China, I will never buy another GM vehicle as long as I live. Ever.

Chrysler? Since they're drinking the obama kool-aide too...

This could be the best thing to ever happened to Ford.

This could be one of the things they're going to dangle to get the Chinese to stop their threats over the inflation that's coming.

The UAW isn't going to run GM. They can't run anything except an extortion racket.

They'll just the pieces to China. They'll ship the plants off to the People's Republic.

Of course that'll leave a whole lot of union half-wits out of work, but hey, that's life in the big city. The printing presses will crank up. Bush and the Republicans will get 100% of the blame. Most of the brain-deads will believe.

I thought Obama-lama-ding-dong was going to take a hard stance against out-sourcing. Yet another flip-flop.

Exactly. It looks like we threw billions of dollars down the drain. Of course it will be less expensive to manufacture in China, because they won’t have to comply with the EPA standards as we do. So, fine. And I guess the retired UAW members will continue to receive payments. But how does this help our existing workforce? In Michigan we’re already at around 13% unemployment. What a nightmare.

This could be the best thing to ever happened to Ford.

Why?

Ford will have to earn their profits while GM and Chrysler will be taxpayer funded with money on demand.

I wonder if some capitalist will stockpile real SUVs and trucks so that he can market them to people like me? I suspect that, like the “rehab-and-resell” real estate business has always been successful, a “rehab-and-resell” SUV/truck business might do well in the future.

“What then, was the purpose of the bailout?”

To Give the DEMOCRAT PARTY defacto economic control of 13 of America’s top 25 corporations, silly! (SO FAR)

After the Cap-n-trade Energy Tax, “Free” Gub-ment run Healthcare, and the growth of government, the DEMOCRATIC PARTY will have control of almost 70% of the US Economy!

FASCISM has arrived! CHANGE!
